The parking lot was nearly vacant as Brielle pulled into her usual spot. The large metal post casted a dim light while a slight shadow formed on the pavement as she walked towards the double glass door. The four story building was that of your typical office space. Tall, modern design with numerous windows and glass doors. The late evening made the building appear less intimidating due to lack of hustle and bustle of the professionals in expensive business suits.
Brielle couldn’t help but daydream about her future as she was slowing entering the elevator. Reaching the top floor, the elevator came to a halt and within a second, the bell dinged causing Brielle to become alert once again.
Walking into the dark office, Brielle flips the light switch and suddenly felt a warm palm cupping her shoulder. “I am so sorry to scare you Brielle” was all that Jackson said as she let out a startled screech, “I drove by the Sk8er Rink earlier when I saw you as you were leaving the building, so I called Tanner. I was told you would be stopping by the office before heading home, and I wanted to catch you before the night was over.” Brielle was starting to get annoyed with Jackson’s sudden persistence. “Jackson, I think we need to be meeting in a more public setting at a more appropriate time setting. I want to keep this strictly professional and nothing more” Brielle stated with sternness in her voice. “I apologize Brielle, I have struggled to keep my head straight since we met last.” Jackson was uncomfortably close to Brielle as he continued to speak. “Let me make it up to you.”
Brielle was debating on declining, but thought this may be a way to help Jackson move on. “Ok Jackson, but we just go to dinner and no funny business” was all she could come back with. Jackson could barely contain his excitement when he spoke up. “I will pick you up Friday after your photo shoot. How about six?” Brielle agreed and Jackson made his way to the door and smiled as he left her office.
