Here it is, your much-awaited Q&A.
The questions were scattered all over the comment sections, so I did my best to hunt them down and answer as many as I could.
If I missed yours, I'm really sorry. Feel free to drop it here again, and I'll make sure to get to it this time.
Answering Sunshine_10xo questions:
Q: I wonder how many vessels Zev has had, and what is his true form?
Nyxia actually mentioned it back in Chapter 39. Zev's had ten vessels before Ansel. As for his true form... let's just say that's a surprise waiting in Book 2. Buckle up.
Q: Is there another being living within Zev? You mentioned the red eyes he gets when he's too angry or unhinged, compared to his usual golden ones.
Another being? Oh god, no. Ansel's body is already crowded enough after hosting a cosmic rage psychopath and his emotional trauma. Adding a third entity would be medically, spiritually, and emotionally illegal at this point.
But good catch on the red eyes. Shadow Weavers have glowing red eyes too, right? Let's just say the reason behind it isn't too different... and you'll definitely find out more as the story peels itself open.
Q: If Zev feels so relentless without even meeting Neev yet, surely he must've sensed the presence of his child too? How did neither Ansel nor Zev feel the baby, no heartbeat, no presence, especially when they're so in tune with Neev's emotions?
Ah, excellent question, and one that comes with a very spoilery answer, which I sadly can't give just yet. But I promise, once you read Chapter 1 of Book 2, it'll all make sense. Trust the process (and maybe curse me a little while you wait).
Q: No spoilers, but seriously... how can Zev even have a redemption arc after everything he's done?
Heh. I did warn you; I might just surprise you. Redemption arcs are tricky... especially when the character in question is 100% rage, and 0% communication skills.
Q: Will the baby be okay, or has Neev fully miscarried? Because that would totally shift how she treats Ansel and Zev going forward.
Your answer already lies in chapter 75.
Q: Can't Ansel still feel the wards when he's around Neev, though? Can't he feel there are powers surrounding her?
See, those seals and wards were placed on Zev, not Ansel. So, whenever they react, whether they tighten or loosen, only Zev can actually feel the impact of Neev's powers acting as the key.
Zev always kept his shields up, so Ansel couldn't pick up on anything strange until Zev lowered his guards. The only thing Ansel could sense was Zev's power growing stronger inside him. And every time he tried to piece things together, Zev would conveniently mess with his memories, just enough to keep Ansel from realizing it was all connected to Neev.
Q: Will we ever get a Zev POV, his mind truly seems boggling?!
Oh, you definitely will. But only when the time is right... and when he's in the mood to let us peek into that chaos he calls a brain.
Q: Is Zev's resistance against the bond because of that 'witch' or because he's now vulnerable, especially if he saved Neev's life, his life must be tied with hers?!!!
Honestly? Only Zev knows the answer and what kind of soap opera he's running in that head of his. We're all just trying to keep up.
Q: Were you inspired by anything particularly for the plot of this book?
