Prologue~~

He is beautiful. Glowing pale blonde hair that covers his ears and just brushes the tips of his eyelashes. Grey eyes as soft as velvet. A youthful, beaming smile. I can tell I'm in a dream because I've never seen this face before. His smiling face is looking down at me.

I realize I am laying in a vibrant green meadow on a sunny, warm day, giggling and smiling widely. He looks around my age, 15, or maybe 16. He is kneeling next to me and saying something with a smile, but I can't hear. The dream seems to be muted, but that doesn't occur to me. I'm enjoying myself too much. I'm enjoying him too much.

Suddenly, there is a loud noise. I can't hear it, but I can sense it. Birds fly out of the sea of trees from our right. The boy turns to face the forest and examines it for a few seconds. When he turns back to me I can see the look of urgency flickering across his face. He flickers a bit, which is strange. For a second, he almost looks transparent. This dream is starting to get weird.

My smile fades as he starts to get up. The expression on my face is disappointed and unwilling for him to leave. He has to go though. I take his hand and pull it to my chest. He bobs down beside me and tucks a loose strand of my caramel colored hair behind my ear. He gets up again gently, turns to the commotion in the trees, looks at me with one last reluctant glance, and runs into the forest.

I cannot move from my place in the grass. I am panicking now and struggling to escape as if I were in quicksand. I scream a soundless yelp, knowing that whatever is in the greenery, is certainly dangerous and beyond my knowledge.
