Chapter 5

Sky

Lacy's POV:

I must have cried myself to sleep because when I had awoken I had dried tear marks on my cheeks and the clock on my nightstand had read 7:47 a.m.

I decided since it was Friday that I would stay home and just lay in bed all day. I didn't feel like having to speak or even see Ryan today.

A few seconds later I hear the sound of footsteps that were coming towards my room. Before the door opens, I close my eyes pretending to be asleep.

Whoever that had came in –im guessing Ryan– had took a seat on my bed next to me making the side of my bed dip. They lean down, moving hair off of my face and giving me a lingering kiss on my forehead.

I feel them get up and I know they must've moved towards the door. When they open it they stop,

"I know your awake Lace and I don't expect you to talk to me anytime soon but I love you, and I'll see you later." I hear Ryan sigh before exiting the room.

I wait to hear the front door open and close so I can sit up, sighing out loud.

I don't know if I was going to talk to him anytime soon. I wanted to but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction.

At around 2:25, since I didn't want to be home when Ryan gets home I decide I'll go to the mall. So I take a quick shower and get dressed and I'm out the house by 2:37.

I didn't have a car yet so I called an Uber.

The winter dance was coming up so that means I need a dress. And I knew the exact store to head to.

I thank the driver, paying her and heading inside.

I continue to walking through the mall until I reach the second floor. Soon I reach a vaguely familiar shop. The sign reads 'Le Boutique' in bright pink cursive.

"Oh hello Lacy, what a surprise to see you hear. Seeing as how school isn't out yet." I hear Alex's mom, Mrs.Carson or Amanda, call out as soon as we enter the fancy shop.

"Yeah, I didn't go today." I greet her back and we exchange kisses on the cheek.

She's undeniably beautiful for her age of 47. Any man,and woman, can see that.

"Well I'm so glad you are here." She lets me know.

"Really?"

"Yes, I just got the new shipments of dresses that I had ordered recently and I wanted you to be the first one to see. And try them on." She winks at me leading me towards the back.

Oh and I forgot to mention, Alex's mom owns this very fine boutique. She also designs most of the dresses here which is why the business is very successful.

I've always used to wonder where Alex got his unique sense of style from. I mean I already know where he gets his sass and stubborn side from. His dad, since his dad is a lawyer it's in his genes to argue and he never backs down until he has won that argument. They're quite competitive if I do say so myself.

"That'd be great, I actually came because the school dance is coming up and I am in desperate need of a dress." I say rocking back and forth.

"Brilliant you can be my model as your trying some dresses on!" Mrs.Cars- I mean Amanda says clapping her hands in excitement.

"That would be fantastic." I say as she rushes off to retrieve some dresses.

"No,no really you look amazing in that dress, as always." I hear a familiar male voice coming from the dressing rooms.

"Awe thanks babe." I hear the squeal of a voice that I –unfortunately– know to well.

I look up and see Sky and Ryan emerging from the dressing room archway.

"Lacy?" I hear Ryan, stopping once he notices my presence.

"Ryan." Is all I say looking from him to Sky a few times.

"Hi Lacy." She's greets me but I ignore her.

"What are you doing here?" Ryan ask trying to look everywhere else but me.

"Well I came so I can buy me a dress, for the dance."

"So you can come shopping but you can't go to school?" He ask and I roll my eyes deciding to ignore his comment.

I cross my arms over my chest eyeing them both, "And why are you here?"

"I came here with Sky so I can buy her a dress for the dance." He says gesturing to the dress in his hands.

"Oh, you're buying it for her?" I ask coldly.

"Yes, I'm her boyfriend, I can spoil my girl if I want." He says wrapping his arm around Sky's waist, pulling her into him.

"Unfortunately." I say loud enough for both of them to hear. Ryan sends me a glare but I just shrug it off.

"Oh I have to go babe, sorry." Sky says looking at her phone probably reading a text.

"Where are you going babe?" Ryan ask, and I roll my eyes because who cares.

"I um got a text from my um mom saying something about a family dinner later on." She responds quite nervously making me eye her suspiciously.

Hmm,wonder what's that about?

"Well I'll just see you later then?" He says but it comes out more as a question as if he's asking for permission.

"How about you just call me?" She says pecking his lips.

"Oh ok." She hugs him rushing out of the store, out of sight.

"Here you are Lacy," Mrs.Carson comes out of the back holding a few dresses in her hands. "Now there are only five but I'm sure all of them will look just amazing on you." She hands me the dresses then turns, looking at Ryan.

"Did you want me to ring that up for you dear?" She asked looking at the dress in Ryan's hand.

"Oh yes, thank you Mrs.Carson."

"Please dear, call me Amanda, it makes me feel younger."

Ryan laughs letting her know he will do so from now on.

She goes to ring up the dress for Ryan, so I take that as my time to go and begin trying on my dresses. Plus I didn't want to stay out there with Ryan, he was just going to leave anyway. 

Time to play dress up!

Hey guys! I know you've been waiting for an update for a while so here it is.

Sorry it took awhile. I began writing this one during a field trip so it took awhile. Anyway my field trip was good if you guys where wondering. But now I have homework to finish so I promise I will start on the next chapter as soon as possible.
