My Luck.

I can't believe I really ran from him. Didn't he say his name was Joel? Yes, Joel. I bet he thinks I'm so stupid. I bet he's sitting over there on the beach near the water; laughing with some chick he's starting to like and talking about nothing but the beach's breeze. Silently, a few tears slipped down my cheek. What was it about him? We didn't even really talk, but I felt something. Ugh, too many questions.

"Are you alright, Abby?" My brother's girlfriend asked as she wallked into my room; her nose turned upward. There's something you need to know about her before I continue. She's basically a rich, snobby, college student who uses my brother for his "good looks" and money. She had been wearing a strapless bikini with black flowers; with her hair tired in a bun and her Coach Factory sunglasses.

"Yes, Jenna. I'm perfectly fine. Can you leave?" I asked, a little annoyed. Jenna and I NEVER get along. The only reason she's even here is because my brother asked her to spend "girl time" with me.

"You dont look it. Dry up your tears; your mascara is running and you look ugly." She said, popping a bubble from her pink bubblegum. Her eyes were narrowing down to me; like she was expecting me to do exactly what she said the minute she said to.

"I think I can handle myself. Get out." I said; being as mean as I could. After I said "out", I pushed her out the door and slammed it shut. After locking it, I glanced at myself in the mirror. Wow, Jenna was right. They few tears that actually fell had made my face black. Oh well.

Pulling back the curtain in front of the window, I glanced around the beach looking for Joel. I needed to go explain why I ran off earlier;  I don't want him thinking I'm crazy.  I looked around the typical teenage guy hang outs, and didn't see him, so I figured it was safe to say that he had left already. After freshening up some, I decided to make a second attempt to enjoy the beach.

The sand felt great between my toes again. The beach made me realize what I had missed, and it made me want to move here someday. The beach wasn't overly crowded; mainly just young couples remained now. A few teen guys were checking me out, and I flashed them a smile. Thankfully, I don't think anyone realized where I was going when I started to head far down the beach. When I reached the "restricted area" sign, I took a left and headed into the small sand area over there.

When I was younger, my dad and I would go to this part of the beach, because no one went over that way because of the sign you could see from a mile away. The area past the sign wasn't even really restricted, just a sign a few teens had put up WAY back when to try to scare people away from their favorite part of the beach. I walked over to the "sand seat" my brother had obviously made for me. Somehow he always knew when I was upset I went here, so he would dig up a little spot in the sand for me to sit.

The ocean waves rippled and thrashed like crazy; making everything seem peace full.  After laying back, I rested my head softly on the sand, closed my eyes, and slipped my ear buds in my ears; preparing to listen to "Knee Deep".

"Umm.." I head someone standing over me mumble, and after looking up I recongized the same eyes from earlier.. Joel.
