"Alice just be careful I don't want you to get hurt"
"Don't worry mum it's only a small party at becky's "
I know my mum just wants the best for me but sometimes she can be a bit overprotective.
Like right now.
She gives me a look of uncertainty but then just seems to shake it off before embracing me in a bone crushing hug.
"Okay.. okay have fun... but ring me if you need anything"
"I will do" I state as I pick up my bags and hurry out the front door.
As I reach the end of the drive way Sophie pulls up in her ford fiesta and opens up the passenger side window.
"Hurry up Alice we need to be there in 15 minutes" Sophie speaks hastily
I jump into the car and toss my bags over the head rest and onto the back seat. Almost immediately Sophie starts the engine and speeds off down the road.
--------------------------------
15 minutes later
--------------------------------We arrive at the party before anyone else has arrived. Even though Sophie was complaining, all the way here, about how we were going to be late.
I hop out of the passenger seat, grabbing my bags on the way, and go to knock on becky's door while Sophie parks the car around the back.
A moment later Becky comes to the door looking slightly flustered but just stands there stairing up at me not allowing me in.
After a few minutes just standing there I decide to say something.
" Well aren't you gonna let me in " I say waving my hand in front of her face.
She steps aside without speaking and I walk past her confused about the way she's acting.
It's only when I see him that I realise why she was hesitant to let me in.
