All of the following was found in an ancient Nords tomb, inside a burial chest which held many artifacts, including the journal of a mans journey.

There Be Terror Rising

I'm not quite sure where I was, but I heard the guards speaking, and they said they were taking us to Helgen. I'm not very familiar with the province of Skyrim, but I know it gets cold, and wet. There were a few other men with me in the carriage, both prisoners. They both had the same fate I had, we were to be executed for doing wrong. The men were speaking of how one murdered many people, and the other, with one eye, broke into a Castle in Cyrodil and stole the Queens crown right off of her head. If you're reading this, you must be wondering what I have done wrong.. Though I cannot recall one single thing from before that day, not even my name. It was quite cold that day while I was being taken to Helgen. The snow was falling off of the dried leaves on the trees. The small speckled birds were roosting inside the cracks of the trees. How warm they must've been.

When we arrived at Helgen, it didn't seem like much of a town. Many guards passing around, it must've been a hold for prisoners, such as myself. However, they actually greeted us nicely, gave us food and drink. The other men and I ate right inside the carriage, because we were to be executed right after we got out of it. The guards called us out, and I stumbled a bit because my legs were chained together. The prisoner with one eye did not have chains on his legs, so instead of staying there to accept his fate, he bolted off in a fast flurry of running. The archer on the Northern watchtower was ordered to shoot the running prisoner. As I watched, the arrow from the long bow glided through the air, right into the back of the man. I felt sad for him, his life now had came to its end. They let his dead body lay there, the guards were obviously careless people. Then I heard the executioner call us over, saying"Lets kill these scum the right way, before they run like cowards also." The guards grabbed us and threw us in front of the executioner. The man and I looked each other in the eyes, while the guard grabbed him and threw his head on the solid cold steel block. I was grateful for this mans fate, how dare he murder so many innocent people, and have no heart about it. The executioner raised his axe, and swung it. Swung it right unto the mans neck, I dared not to look at this gruesome task. The mans fate was now sealed, and now I was the last prisoner to be executed. I was trembling in fear, terrified of what was to come next for me. I still had no recall of what I had done that would've gotten me into this horrible predicament. The guard threw the other mans body off of the steel block, and placed my head on it. I turned my head to the side, and looked at the executioners hardened eyes. They were as cold as icy steel, as cold as the block my head lie on. The executioner raised his axe, and raised it high. When all of the sudden, just when my fate twas to come, a giant beast landed on the building behind the executioner, and shook the ground under him. What was that thing?! I've never seen such a thing until now. The guards were fighting the beast, shooting arrows, and swinging longswords, when all of the sudden a guard came by and freed me of my chains. I was startled, yet disorientated for some reason. My head was throbbing, and a weird feeling had came over me. The guard guided me into a building, and we ran through the burning village the the beast had destroyed. It was breathing fire at every corner.

I saw a dead girl who's mother was sobbing, and praying for her dead child. "Talos, save my daughter, save my daughter!" She shouted. The guard and I were running for an underground hold, we were nearly there, until the winged beast landed in front of us. The beast took in air, and blew out a large flame. Luckily I evaded the attack by ducking near a large rock, as the guard did. We needed another route, so we ran into a building that had its roof torn off, and we went right around the beast. It's mighty tail was swaying, and flailing, with large bony spikes on the end. We ran for the door of the keep, and were safe underground, both trembling in terror.
