Astrid, The Dreamer: 

  People always say that love is wonderful, or love is the truest thing you could ever hope to find; but what if you've never found such a thing as "love"? I know I haven't. All I have ever loved is my cat, my orange tabby cat named Ember. He's always been there for me, and I occasionally, sometimes, talk to him. But who doesn't talk to their animals? It's natural; in a way.

  Right now I was at work, listening to the music playing in the background as I sat behind the counter, bored out of my mind. I wanted to go home, sit on the couch and watch movies; with my cat cuddling either on my lap or next to me. See, that wasn't boring. 

  But I needed the extra hours, I was a bit behind on the rent. Plus, college let out early today, so I agreed when my boss asked if I could come in; because one of my co-workers was out sick. 

  Flipping through a magazine, trying to occupy myself, I heard the loud *ding* that signaled someone had just entered the store. I pushed the magazine aside, looking up from the counter top. "Hello, how may I help you?" I asked the teenage girl that was practically clinging to her boyfriend. 

  "We're just looking." The male said, jerking away from his desperate girlfriend. I only nodded, looking out of the window. 

  It was a nice day, the sun was out and it smelled of Spring. I absolutely loved it. Too bad I had to be in here, instead of out there; in the lovely weather. 

  This was going to be a long day.

  "Do you really think I'm an idiot?" I asked, turning to look at the couple that had just walked in a few moments ago. 

  They froze, not even glancing my way. I sighed, stepping away from the counter and making my way towards them. "Drop all of the records and give them to me." I told the male, since he was the one carrying most of them. 

  He bit on his lip ring, taking them out of his jacket and handing the records to me; one by one. He was thinking of stealing six total.

  "Now leave. Don't think about coming back, either." I growled, looking at him. They both left, hurriedly, while I went to put them all in their rightful places.

  Stupid thieves.
