~Cas~

"So umm...Castiel right?" Dean pierced through the very tense silence.

"Yeah"

"That's a cool name. Different, I can give you that, but cool."

I smiled at that, which I hid from him not wanting him to know how I felt of his compliment.

"So um...this is like the main hallway in the school" Dean started, once again slicing through now VERY tense silence.
"I like to think of it as the center of everything boring"

I looked over to Dean, and saw that he smiled ever so lightly at his own words.

I love that smile Cas thought to himself.

We kept walking down the long hallway that consisted of many doors leading into many different classrooms until finally we stopped at a set of double doors.

"The Gym and the football field are to the left of us, and the aquatics and outdoor cafe are to the right"

I let out an almost silent "ok" which caused Dean to look at him and furrow his eyebrows

"What?" Dean replied.

"Oh um...I just said ok"

I looked up at Dean who was looking down at me with that amazing smile plastered on his face. Oh god I thought, as I stared into those amazing green eyes almost getting lost in them before the first period bell rang ripping us from our little staring contest.

Kids started pouring out of classrooms to the left and right of them and soon they were engulfed in the bustle of bodies.

It was very loud in a hallway that not even seconds before was as eerily quite.

I looked up at Dean again who had just finished saying something that I could not make out.

"What?" Cas urged over the loud teens.

"I said, We have writing now" Dean said into Cas' ear, close enough to where Cas could feel his hot breath against his skin. A flood of heat spilled  into Cas' neck and on his face.

"Oh...Uh, ok" Cas choked out, unable to form a very good Sentence from what had just occurred.

"Your as red as a damn tomato Cas, you ok?" Dean chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good"

Dean grabbed my hand and started pulling the both of them through the crowd. Instinctively, I grabbed his hand back fighting this sudden urge to intertwine my fingers.

The crowd became more thick than it was down at the end of the hallway~ if that's even possible~ Cas thought, so he gripped deans hand tighter. Dean looked back at him and nodded his head ever so slightly. Probably asking if I was ok since I just put the death grip on him, and I responded with the same almost unnoticeable nod.

we kept walking for what seemed like hours especially since my hand is locked on his until finally we slipped into a quite classroom that was almost half way filled.

Dean let go of my hand which I didn't even notice I was still holding, and I wiped the sweat off onto my black jeans.

_________

~Dean~

I nudged my head into the direction of which two empty desks where sitting side by side. Cas looked at me who obviously got what I was trying to imply, and we started making our way to the two desks.

"Hey major Tom!" Charlie squeaked behind me, lightly flicking the back of my head.

I turned around to see her smiling so wide I thought her lips were gonna fall off. She quickly darted her eyes to Cas, and then back to me, and then back at Cas, and then back to me again.

"And?" I mouthed silently

"You two were holding handssss" she whispered back, bouncing up and down in her seat like a child.

"No, no, no redhead. We were not holding hands, I was guiding him through the hall so he wouldn't get lost"

"Say what you want deanie weenie, you coulda' just grabbed his arm."

"Well I didn't. And it was nothing so get over it"

She gave me a look of pure wickedness, like she was planning something bad. Which got me thinking that I should stay away from her while guiding Cas through the hallways.

She had a good point though, why hadn't I just grabbed his wrist or his arm? Did I want to hold his hand without even noticing till now?
Oh whatever, I was just helping a....friend.

"My name is Mr. Metatron and I will be your writing teacher. Today, we won't go into great depth with anything as I take it your all so happy to be back"

I sneered at that comment and I could hear Charlie make a pfft sound behind me.

"So, what we will be doing today is a game that you all have played probably a thousand times. But! We will not play it the way you have played it....a thousand times. Yes, we will go around the class and say name, how old you are, your favorite food, what you cry about at night yada yada yada but! I want you to say what your favorite book is, what your favorite author is, and if would ever be interested in writing a book of your own.

I could practically see Charlie grinning ferociously behind me. I knew she loved books, and has probably read every damn book under the sun, but c'mon its school why so happy.

The desks in the class were organized in rows which You could count two ways; 4 across the room, or 5 starting in the front of the class, and working your way to the back. We started this "game" on the left side of the classroom at the desk farthest from the door, going back. I was in the second Column of desks and the 4th desk In the row. I liked being away from the  door and away from the teacher, less trouble.
Cas sat in the row next to me, directly on my right, and Charlie sat in the desk behind me closest to the back wall.

I stopped listening after about 4 people because it was just the constant- hello, my name is ___. I am __ years old. And then the whole 'book thing'.

I looked over to Cas, who was sitting there with the most fascinated look glistening in his eyes.

It made his already vibrant blue eyes grow even brighter, with his hair all ruffled and his tight jeans all torn and faded.

Ok stop Dean your staring. So? What's the problem with staring? I argued with myself silently. He is looking. Pfft no he- sure enough, his amazing blue eyes were looking straight at Dean with a confused look on his face.

"Winchester do I have to tell you twice to stop staring at your boyfriend?" The teacher retorted.

Dean heard bits of muffled laughter coming from his peers.

"He's not my boyfriend, sir" Dean spat the last word out like poison.

"And with all due respect mr. Metatron, your mom was more amusing in bed last night than your class, so I had to have something keep me entertained"

And with that, the whole class lost it.

People were "ooing" left and right and some were just drop dead laughing their asses off. He  smiled at his quick response that he didn't imagine would get this much attention.

Finally, Dean looked over at Cas who was twirling his pencil in between his fingers and shaking his head slightly while lightly chuckling to himself. Dean mused at this sight before the second period bell rang, sending teens flying out the door and onto their next class.
