Chapter 4 - The Secret Act

[PATRICK'S POV aka P.A.]

I continue walking while greeting the people I knew from different classes and teachers that I passed by.

Although I've been thinking of Kate on the way to school... and I came up on an idea of giving her a thank you letter.

I want to tell her how I feel but I can't find my courage to do so. I want to be honest to tell her that all this time I've been admiring her. And I wish to be always be with her even if she don't feel the same way.

While heading to the lockers... I feel the 3 girls from ago are following me.

I have reached my locker and still feel their stares at me... So, I turn my back and smile at them.

"Hello!" I greet them again

One of them move forward and give out a small graphical notebook. It seems its an autograph that obviously owned by a girl.

"Umm... Patrick, can can.. you sign in here? Please?" the girl ask me. She's my classmate.., yeah she's sitting next to Kate in our first period.

I nod and answer "Sure. No problem."

"Really... gee... thank you. Oh! you can take your time to answer it"

"Alright."

They giggle and thank me. Seems like they are all excited on something.

Facing my locker again, I grabed my books, pen, notes and my favorite stress ball. While putting them out an idea pop up in my head. My eyes automatically turned right to see Kate's Locker. Luckily it is beside mine. I examine the padlock, can I guess her combination? I think I have to try. I left my locker half open while I unlock Kate's padlock. What's her combination? Let me think... Is it her birthday? so, its two "2" for february twenty nine for the day "29" and eighty nine for the year "89"?

*click* = unlock. oh it doesn't work.

Is it her brothers birthday? for Kevin, click=unlock. for Rain click=unlock. oh oh.... I think I don't really know her after all. hmm, I wish its my birthday. If I am to think of a combination that is not related to me, I love to put dates that are important to me or a very unforgetable day. Just like my combination, its her birthday because it is very important for me.

Without thinking properly, my hands started dialing my birthday to her padlock. 3 for March, 09 for the day, and 89 for the year. *click* = UNLOCK

My eyes widen in shock... is this for real? Does it mean I am important to her? I am happy to know and I wish for her to be my girl someday. But right now I should be contented the way it is. I am really so happy right now! I have to control my self atleast and get her things with me. After I get out the books and notes, I locked her locker and get my things as well. I heard a chuckle on my leftside. I immediately turn my head and saw a big smile owned by Kate's bestfriend, Chris. Oh no... I'm dead.

"Hi there Patrick! GOOD MORNING TO YOU." she says smilling

"Oh hey, Its good to see you in the morning Chris!" I reply and follow up a question "Have you been there all along? umm, did you see?"

"Hahaha... Yes I did from the very beginning Pat! My bff will sure be angry to know if someone steals her things."

"Oh, I am not! I'm just helping her carry her loads. I'll put this on her desk. So, can you do me a favor not to tell?"

"No...She has the right to know that you knew her secret combination. Well, I may say I'm impress of how you unlocked it."

"Please Chris! I'm begging you."

"If there will be an ice cream for me and Kate on our afternoon breaks I will reconsider.." she whisper

"Then its a deal?"

"But that's not an assurance. I'll still think about it! For the longest time, I had to put an act to Kate just to know it. You're really a genius Ally!

"Nah, I just got my luck. Umm, you know I have a surprise for her during our practice dance tomorrow since her brother told me that she'll be watching us.

"She won't participate in the dance? That's crucial."

"Yeah, as much as I wanted to dance with her but I think she has her own reason for it."

"Maybe, even though she does too."

"What?"

"Oh you heard me! Yes she does and she loves dancing as much as her brother."

"So, can you help me now? Please?"

"Alright. I won't tell for now but promise me don't ever hurt her. She doesn't deserve to be hurt and thrown away."

"I promise! I won't hurt her and I will protect her. Thank you."

"Your welcome." She smiled.

I gather all the things as fast as I could.Then I walk pass her as I intend to go to the classroom before our classmates go inside the room.

"I better go first in our room. See you later."
