A quiet sigh fell inside Kim Dan's office.

Despite the harrowing events that occurred, Dan didn't let it deter him from getting his work done, and right now, he felt like he could finally relax a bit.

The Asia transfer was relatively complete, thankfully, as all he needed now was final confirmation from Jaekyung's people stationed around in the east, south, and parts of the west.

Shutting his computer, he fell back in his chair, raking a hand through his hair.

"Working with Joo Jaekyung, hm? Now why the hell would you think that's such a smart idea, KPD?"

Randy Booker's words lingered at the back of Kim Dan's mind like a never-ending echo. Just taunting him.

For one thing, Dan was grateful that Jaekyung had saved him and potentially debugged his home, but now the real issue was him, a man whose very existence pained Dan in ways he could never imagine. A man responsible for Dan's fears of being completely known in the criminal underworld.

Dan was admittedly happy that Jaekyung took out Randy Booker before he could say anything major about Dan's true past, about what he got up to before he started working with Heesung.

"But...what do I do if Jaekyung tries to look into it?" Dan huffed under his breath, turning over in his swivel chair and glancing outside. "What'll I do, or, better yet, what will he do?"

As far as he was concerned, Jaekyung and his inner circle likely assumed that Kim Dan was targeted because Jaekyung was being monitored, judging by the conversation he and Namwook had earlier today.

But what if they tried to do a bit more digging?

Kim Dan tried so hard to keep that part concealed, even going so far as to want to use Joo Jaekyung's name, but he doubts that would do any good for him.

By now, the lackeys that escaped likely reported the incident to him, and Dan was partly sure that he was figuring out what else to do now that it was confirmed Dan never left this life and was actively working towards something big.

Dan supposed, even though he wasn't fully sure of anything, he couldn't afford to keep his guard down; in fact, he should've been more guarded.
