I want answers!!

Maddie's pov
I wake up to Oreo licking my face and the events all come flooding back to me. I cried last night and it was in front of Luke. I grab Oreos leash and show it to him. He gets excited and I quickly throw my hair up into a bun to take him outside. I attach him to his leash and again we race down the stairs. We walk out the front door and I take him for a little walk.

When we walked into the house Liz called my name. I unattached Oreo and he went for a run around the house. I laugh and shake my head walking over to Liz who is in the kitchen. She says she's going to make a lunch for me to take to school but I wave her off. Claudia and I usually go out for lunch on Tuesday's. I explain that to her and she nods. I run up stairs and hop in the shower considering its 6:28 am and school doesn't start until 8:15. I get out after ten minutes and dry my hair. When it's completely dry, I go into my closet and pull out a pair of Black high waisted shorts and a floral American Eagle shirt. I slip on my high tops and run back into my bathroom. I quickly straighten my hair and apply a little bit of make up. I brush my teeth and walk out of my room with my backpack and wallet. I grab my car keys and say goodbye to Liz. I walk out the front door and go to my car being followed by Luke who grabs my arm and spins me around.

"What the hell?" He says.

I look at him confused and he gives me a glare. I pull my arm from his grasp and back up against my car.

"Since when do you wear glasses?" He asks me.

I looked at him shocked. Nobody's supposed to know I wear glasses and when I move here I stopped wearing them and put on contacts. The only people who know about my glasses is Ariana Claudia and Savannah. Obviously my parents know though. Ariana makes me wear my glasses when I'm at her house but I don't if we go out. Sometimes I purposely forget them at my house and say I forgot but don't tell her that.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I say to Luke.

"Yeah right Madison. Last night when I carried you back into bed I saw your glasses on the desk. I checked them and they are prescription. Why aren't you wearing them?" He asks me freaking me out.

"You're pretending to care again Hemmings," I say.

He looks down to the ground an I use that as a chance to unlock my car and hop in. I pull out of the driveway and Luke turns around and walks the opposite direction, towards the forest that Oreo and I run away to. I drive up the street and stop in the middle of the road, slamming on my breaks. In front of me is the one and only Conner Dennis. I put my car into reverse and I drive all the way back down the street and pass Luke who stares at me and then looks behind him seeing Conner. Although I feel pretty awesome right now. I pull over in front of the forest and hop out of my car. Locking the doors I run into the forest and I hear footsteps behind me. Terrified I run faster until a rock gets thrown at my body causing me to fall over. I get grabbed by my shirt and lifted up into the air. Conner throws me against the tree and my vision goes blurry. As my vision kind of comes back I see Luke running over to Conner who has pulled out a knife and punches him square in the jaw causing him to throw the knife. It lands somewhere close to me and I army crawl as best as I can to get to it. Conner punches Luke and throws him to the ground kicking him constantly in the stomach. Luke grabs his leg and pulls it forward causing Conner to fall on his back. I hear the water that I know so well and quietly run over to it. I throw the knife into the waterfall and pray that it'll stay behind there. I check my body and I've got scratches that are kind of drawing blood. I rinse my arms into the water and feel someone touching my back. I turn around quickly and see it's just Luke so I relax a bit.

"I'm sorry," he blurts out.

"For what?" I ask him clueless.

"For demanding to know things," he says looking at the ground.

He helps me up and my back gets a shooting pain so I sit back down. He looks at me with hurt in his eyes and I fight more tears. He carefully and slowly picks me up bridal style and I lay my head in the crook of his neck.

"Luke can we stay here for a bit. I don't wanna go back yet," I mumble in his ear.

"As you wish, Princess," he replies cockily.

I roll my eyes and smile. He sits down on a rock and just holds on to me and honestly I don't want him to let go. I feel safe with him. After a while, my back starts to feel a little better so I get up from Luke's grasp and lay down on the grass. He lays down next to me and we just stare at the sky. The tip of the trees match with the sky so beautifully. I close my eyes and I feel Luke stand up. I look at him and he takes his shirt and shoes off and jumps into the water in his shorts. I laugh at him and stay out of the water. He waves for me to come into the water but I shake my head.

"Hey Madison. Come look at this," he says waving for me to come over to him.

I groan and get up walking over to the blonde boy in the water.

"Here give me your hand," he says lifting his arm out of the water.

I pass him my hand and his arm is cold. He slowly brings my hand into the water and then pulls me in causing me to scream.

"Luke!! I'm gonna kill you!" I yell at him.

I pretend to fail swimming and act like I'm drowning. I fake choke and tell him I can't swim in between breaths. Freaking out Luke swims over to me lifting me up out of the water.

"My hero," I say cockily and he mutters oh no.

Oh yes. I push him under the water and swim over to the water fall. I grab the knife that I left there before and hop out onto a rock beside the water fall. I climb up to the top with the knife in hand and throw it into the trees. I climb back down a different way and walk back over to where I was sitting before. Luke gets out of the water and walks over to where I'm standing and stands in front of me. He looks at me and there's a moment where we're looking into each other's eyes but I drop my gaze to the beautiful ground below me. Luke puts his hands on my waist and pulls me closer to his body, moving one hand back up to my chin lifting my face to look him in the eyes. We stay like that for a moment until he drops his gaze to my lips and then back to my eyes. He slowly moves forward an I find my self moving forward as well until his lips brush mine. My attention snaps at me and I pull away.

"I-I-I can't do this, not again," I say.

I turn and run away back to where I had left my car before. I grab my keys and unlock my car quickly putting on my seat belt before driving away. I pull out my phone and use Siri to text Dan and Phil asking them if they wanna hang out. A few minutes later my phone goes off and they've both sent "YES!". I smile faintly an continue driving.
