It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me, said all at once. Our little adventure was over and she was moving on without me. I missed her . I missed her with every grain in me. She wasn't answering my calls and I was that she had done something stupid and reckless. I had come to know things about her that her closest friend didn't even know. In our time apart I've realized I loved her more than life itself. Because to me she was life. I didn't realize that I wasn't truly living before I met her.
It had been 2 months since I had last seen her, touched her, kissed her. I didn't want to have to let her go, but I did because it was right. After all, she was a wildflower and didn't belong to anyone.
~2 years earlier~
There was a hum of chatter flowing through the bar. It was always like this except this time I wasn't joining in. I was incapable of thinking straight that night and my mind was coated in a layer of beer and whiskey.
"How's the writing coming along, Jesse?" The bar owner, Mac, asked. I puffed out some air and gave him a look. "I've been in here every night for the past month and drinking enough to possibly put myself in a coma. How do you think?" I snapped slightly and sipped my beer. "Sorry, Jess. It was just a question." He muttered, making me feel bad right away. "Sorry, Mac." I apologized and Mac just looked at me.
"Hey, Mac." A sweet voice said from next to me. I turned my head slightly and caught a glimpse of sea foam colored hair. "Hey, Willow! I thought you were long gone?" It was wrong of me to listen in but I couldn't help it. Her voice and hair enticed me. "Nahh, Mac. I decided to stay another week I like it here." She said and sat down on a bar stool.
She was wearing a dark blue dress that was to big for her, black thigh high socks and clunky heels that gave her more height. Her pale skin was made even paler by dark lipstick and eye make-up. She was a stunner.
"Jesse, this is Willow. She is the most interesting person I've talked to all week." Mac said after he noticed my glances. "Only this week? You're going to have to tell me about some of these people." She laughed slightly."Nice to meet you." I said and extended my hand. She examined it and made me feel like she wasn't going to shake it. But she took it, she took my large, calloused hand into her small and soft one and I felt good.
About 20 minutes later we were in full conversation about her life and I was hooked and fascinated. She had a great smile but aomething about it wasn't right. It was a true smile but something about it was sad and me being a curious person, I wanted to know what it was.
Hey guys, that was the first chapter of Wanderess. Jesse is played by Garrett Hedlund, but I have no idea who should play Willow. Leave a suggestion in the comments!!!~ Harley
