✫ Chapter 1 - Autumn ✫

5/17/1996

It was 5:30 AM when I woke up to the loud noise of my alarm clock. I could hear my brothers snoring all the way to my room. I always wake up early considering I go to an all girls Catholic high school which is an hour away by bus. The dress code is way too strict. It takes me forever to get ready. Hair up in a ponytail or bun? Perfectly dressed? No make-up? No nail polish? Oh okay. It's already 6:55 and I'm already on the bus. Everyday we drive past this stunning little park next to a public school. Everyday there is a strange girl swinging there, long brown hair, always wearing white, always holding a single purple Lillie.  

5/18/1996

I watch her everyday. I'm not a stalker i swear. . . She is stunning, she looks like a sadistic super model. Today I will finally talk to her. Instead of going on the bus I decided to walk home and hopefully see her on my way. 

There she was. Our eyes met, without saying a single word she started giggling, a moment of silence passes and she says, ''Your face is bright red'' I felt my heart skip a beat.  ''Oh  h- hi.. well... my name is Sam...''  She looked very interested and without hesitating she said ''Why are we not friends yet?''  It felt like love at first sight. I asked for her name,  she looked into my eyes, ''Autumn. The name's Autumn. I think Fall would suit me better considering i keep falling on the ground all the time'' Damn, this girl is amusing. She's even prettier from up close too. She's different from all the girls from school, she doesn't really care about anything, she's just living life, or in her words, ''I'ma love life while everybody else lives life.'' We ended up talking for hours. It was 6:40 PM and i rushed back home. Mom was obviously furious, she yelled at me and i got grounded for a week, but at the end it didn't matter, as long as i got to meet Autumn. 

5/21/1996 

It's been a few days since i last saw her. Is it weird that i miss her? At that moment I heard a noise. ''Pssst'' I turn around and there she is. She's looking through my window with those big blue eyes. ''Autumn? What are you doing here? How do you know where i live?'' I attacked her with questions. ''Oh i live across the street, we just moved in a few days ago'' I couldn't help but smile, she looks stunning even with leafs in her hair. My bedroom is on the second floor, she must have climbed the Oak tree next to my window. ''Well what are you doing here?'' I asked. She looked confused. Without a word she started climbing through the open window. ''You better sit down for this'' Autumn said with a serious expression on her face, '''What would happen to the sea level if all the boats in the world were taken out at once?'' She is so adorable. ''Did you really come here at 11:55 PM to ask me that?'' I asked with a smile on my face, thinking 'yup, I'm gonna marry this girl''.
