Chapter 4: The Dance

Nikki woke up smiling. "Guess what day it is!" She said to Caroline excitedly. "Duh! It's Wednesday," Caroline said casually. "No! It's  the day of the big dance!" Nikki squealed. Caroline smiled and started doing her happy dance. The girls both laughed and got dressed for another day at camp. The two best friends skipped hand-in-hand to the mess hall for breakfast.

After breakfast, the girls discussed what they would be wearing for the big dance. "Should I wear my blue dress or my black one?" Caroline asked. "Oh! I'm just gonna go with leggings  and a t-shirt," Nikki said, "But you should definitely wear the black dress." Caroline nodded and picked up really nice black boots. "Those are so cute!" Nikki squealed. "Thanks! I'm wearing it tonight!" Caroline said excitedly.

It was an hour before the dance and Caroline hadn't seen Zack all day. "I haven't seen Zack all day!" Caroline said worriedly as she was applying eyeliner. "Wow! He actually went one day without making out with you," Nikki said bitterly. Caroline rolled her eyes as she put on her lip gloss. Nikki applied some makeup and wore a grey v-neck  with ripped skinny jeans. "At least your shirt looks nice!" Caroline said chuckling. Nikki looked offended, but didn't say anything.

Just when Caroline and Nikki were about to open the door, Zack came in wearing a tux. He knelt down and presented Caroline with a single rose. Caroline grabbed him by his tie and kissed him. Zack smiled and put the rose in Caroline's hair. "You look beautiful, babe!" Zack said. Caroline giggled. "You don't look too bad yourself," she said laughing. The happy couple walked out the door.

Nikki was about to walk out the door alone when Spencer violently opened the door and "hit" Nikki's face. She fell backward. "I'm so sorry, Nikki!" He said sadly. Nikki pretended to cry. Spencer knelt down beside her on the floor. "I'm so-" Before Spencer could finish his sentence, Nikki pulled him down. He landed on top of her. They both laughed. "That was a really good first impression, Spencer," Nikki said flirtatiously. "I know right?" Spencer said sarcastically.

He brought his hand out to Nikki. She grabbed it and Spencer pulled too hard. Spencer fell backwards with Nikki landing on top of him. "Well this isn't awkward at all," Spencer said laughing. "Your right!" Nikki said. Just then, Aiden walked into the room. "Spencer! What the hell are you doing?" He yelled. Spencer got up. "Nothing!" He yelled at Aiden.
Aiden looked angrily at Spencer and Nikki. "Can't we have a moment without you interrupting!" Nikki said to him rudely.

Aiden looked shocked. He walked away. "You really think that was a cute moment?" Spencer asked. Nikki blushed, "Well yeah, up until that jerk ruined it." Spencer smiled. They walked to where the dance would take place.

They headed down to where the dance was held at the camp and their were already many people dancing. Caroline and Zack were dancing but Nikki didn't dare because Alex and Anna were giving her death stares. Spencer who was awkwardly standing alone was pushed to the dance floor by Anna. "Anna do you mind!" Spencer yelled not loudly but enough for people around to hear. "Ugh just dance!" He smirked "I can't."

Later about an hour or so a slow song came on. Spencer looked around for Nikki spotting her alone. "Nikki do you wanna da-" She got flustered "I-i don't know how to dance Spencer.." He chuckled. "Whats so funny" She frowned. He smiled "Because I don't know how to really dance either." She took his hand looking at Caroline and Zack. They both tried copying how they were dancing but it was confusing. They both laughed and just held their hands together going back and forth.

After, they went outside and started playing cards.

Nikki yawned and side hugged Spencer who dropped his cards and hugged Nikki tightly. "Caroline it's really late." Caroline rolled her eyes. "When has it been late for you?" Caroline mumbled loudly. Zack looked at her and shrugged. Spencer gave her a rude look. "Um...I'm just tired," Nikki sighed. Caroline snapped "Then go back to the cabin!" Zack's eyes where wide now "Okay goodnight, Nikki." Nikki stood up and mumbled to Caroline "Rude much?"

Spencer follower Nikki behind and closed the door. "Nikki are you okay?" He quietly said. She shook her head. "No, is that Caroline just is really mean sometimes when she's with Zack" He hugged Nikki. "Goodnight S-"
"Wait Nikki" Nikki looked at him "yeah Spencer?" He looked down and took Nikki's hand. "I know I'm not romantic like Zack and I know I'm not going to be around much, but I love you Nikki."

Zack hear the cabin door close. Caroline sighed. "Sorry you had to see that, I'm just feeling a bit weird." Zack kissed her softly. "I love you, Caroline." She smiled "I love you too, babe," he blushed and they both cuddled next to each other. "If your counselor walks in here and sees us hugging on the floor, he's gonna flip," Caroline said. "That's a risk I just gotta take," Zack replied smiling. Caroline laughed and they stayed there hugging and talking until Caroline had to go back to her cabin.
