Maxine's POV~

"Austin! Hurry up!," I whined to my best friend who was taking forever in my shower.

"I am!," he called out.

"Well hurry faster!," I exclaimed.

The water shut off. I sat down on my couch and waited. Finally, the door opened.

"Took you long enough," I said.

I went into the bathroom and went pee because I was about to burst. I washed my hands when I was done and went back into the living room.

"So, what are you doing today?," he asked.

"Well, now that Freshman year of college is over I have nothing much to do. I don't have work until 2 weeks. So I guess I'll just do some shopping," I told him.

"Shopping? You're not a fan of shopping," he said.

"I know. But I need a new hoodie," I told him.

"What's wrong with the one that's in the top drawer of your bedroom?," he asked.

"I don't like that one," I told him coldly.

"Okay, weirdo," he chuckled.

"What about you? What are you doing today?," I asked him.

"I have work," he told me.

"Have fun," I told him.

"I will," he said as he walked out the door.

Let me just catch you up. Austin and I became best friends. We graduated high school and moved out to Los Angeles and attend UCLA. I live in a small apartment and Austin stupidly chose to live in a dorm. I would be upgrading to a bigger apartment in the same building and Austin would be moving in. The new apartment would have two full bathrooms and three bedrooms. I would be starting my new job in the campus bookstore with Austin and our other friend, Greg. Greg and Austin were currently roomates and had become good friends, so had I.

Anyway, I got dressed, brushed my hair and teeth, and then was out the door. I walked to the part of LA that had all of the stores and where all of the big events were held. I started shopping. Eventually, I walked by some empty lot where they held concerts and stuff. Today, it was crowded as hell. I tried pushing through the crowd of screaming girls. Suddenly, they started going crazy and were yelling their heads off. I tried to get through, but was apparently near whoever they were freaking out over because they were pointing behind me and then out of nowhere, they ran right at me. I was knocked over, hit my on the ground, and landed on my wrist and getting some cuts on my hand too.

"HEY!," some big scary dude yelled.

His shirt said security.

"Back away," he told the girls.

They did as he said. He walked over to me and helped me up.

"Are you okay?," he asked.

"I-I think so," I told him.

"I'm going to take you to the first-aid room, okay?," he asked.

"Okay," I said.

He walked me to it and left me with some guy.

"So, what happened to you?," the doctor guy asked.

"Those girls are freaking savages," I sighed.

"Oh yeah. They go nuts for celebrities," he chuckled.

He looked at my hand first.

"It's not broken, just a minor sprain," he told me.

He wrapped up my hand after cleaning the cuts up. The door opened and in walked in two guys.
