Renee POV
"Hey Arya!!!" I hollered at her. She was walking down the hallway in the opposite direction and I needed to tell her something. She stopped and turned around to look at me. "What's up?" she asked. "You will never believe what just happened to me!" I squealed in excitement. We pushed past everyone in the hallway and I yanked her arm into the restroom. "Zack just asked me out for dinner and I said yes!" my voice rising with enthusiasm. I looked down at her and saw emotions flying across her face. Excitement. Happiness. Joy. And could it be a flash of...envy? Nah, you just made that up, its all in your head I decided. When I looked at her face again all I could see was how happy she was for me. "Renee that is awesome, I am so glad you found a nice guy, but he has to pass my inspection first" she threatened. "Of course! Id never see anyone without your approval. And don't worry, no boy will ever come between us" I reassured. She looked up at me and wrapped her arms around me. "I never doubted that you goof" she said laughing at me. I grabbed her arm and we started walking to our next class. "So any boys catch your interest?" I asked. "Nah, you're the only one for me." she joked. We both laughed walking into the classroom just as the bell rang. We quickly took our seats in the back before the teacher yelled at us. Mrs. Clark was a cool teacher but you didn't want to get on her bad side. I reluctantly pulled out my math book and notebook with my homework. The class started reviewing last nights work and it also gave you a chance to finish up a few problems if you weren't a hundred percent done. I looked over at Arya who was bent over her work while her hair fell around to frame her face. I studied her completely familiar with everything she was doing. We had been friends since elementary school and never questioned it once. The bond we had was utterly undeniable. We practically lived together spending most nights at one another's houses. Being roughly the same size we just shared clothes so that was never an issue. Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted when I heard Arya clear her throat. "What are you staring at?" she asked me with curiosity in her voice. "Um, nothing, I was just lost in thought. Sorry." I apologized. "Its all cool babe, no worries." she replied with a smirk. The teacher interrupted our conversation when she began talking about what was coming next. We went through the rest of the class just paying attention and being the good little girls people expected us to be. The rest of the school day went much the same and then it came time for our final class of the day. P.E. was our favorite so we were both eager to get into the locker room and change. I went to my small locker and grabbed todays clothes out of it. I had just changed into my shorts and sports bra when Arya opened her locker right next to mine. I grabbed my shirt and walked to the mirror tying my hair up into a ponytail. I examined my body in the mirror before I slipped my shirt on. I was proud of my body I had worked so hard to achieve. It was slightly tan and muscular with an athletic build I had light abs and toned arms and legs. With my shirt on and hair tied up I walked back to my gym locker and closed it up examining Arya's body out of the corner of my eye. Her build was much the same as mine with the only differences being my abs were more defined and my arms were slightly bigger. But what do you expect out of a boxer. We walked into the gym side by side and sat down on the bleachers waiting for the teacher to finish taking attendance so we could get to the game. Dodgeball. It was girls against boys today which obviously put the boys at a huge....disadvantage. Putting Arya and I on the same team was a death sentence for whoever our opponents were, it didn't matter if they were boys, girls, jocks or nerds. If you stood against us you went down and that was that. The girls went to there side of the gym and the boys went to theirs. The balls were set up and the coach brought the whistle to his lips. At the sound of the whistle Arya and I raced to the middle of the gym grabbing as many balls as we could. It was eight girls vs ten boys. I backed up and looked around studying the position of my players. We were down to six girls and seven boys, with the athletic kids left. I jogged over to Arya and eyeballed the best guy on their team. The two of us could read each others mind well enough that we both started running up on the guy who looked like a deer in the headlights. I whipped my arm back in perfect sync with Arya while she aimed low I aimed high. Both balls sailed threw the air and nailed him. He fell back and glared at us while walking to the sidelines. "Bye Brent" we both said in unison. He gave us the bird while we high-fived. Once again I took stock of the situation we were in. It had narrowed down to three guys and us two girls. One glance and we both knew our separate targets. I scooped up a ball and chucked it at Pete's head while dodging Carter's ball. After Pete went down I threw a glance in Arya's direction just in time to see a ball nail her right in the face. The people in the sidelines oohed because the fearsome duo never went down. "Oh hell no, you did not just hit my girl in the face!!!" I yelled at Chuck. Arya walked past me with blood from her nose dripping down her face. The glance she gave me said everything I needed to know. Chuck was going down. I grabbed a ball in each hand and threw my glare at him. He seemed to shrink by the second under my gaze. I walked up to the line and was thankful of the fact that I was ambidextrous. Setting my sights on Chuck's face I launched the ball. Bulls eye was my only thought. When he put his hands up to cup his face I whipped my second ball straight where the sun don't shine. He bent over and hit the ground hard curled up in a ball. "That's for getting my girl out" I muttered while walking past him. The girls cheered and the boys groaned with sympathy for their fallen teammate. I strode into the locker room and found Arya. "Hey, are you ok?" I asked softly. As she looked up at me I took the paper towel from her hand and began cleaning the blood off her face. "I'm fine Renee, really I am, it's just a little bloody nose" she said truthfully. "I don't care, he hit you in the face so he deserved what he got." She looked at me and laughed. "You got him with the double shot didn't you?" she asked. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." But the smile in my eyes said it all. Arya doubled up in laughter and fell off the bench. "Poor Chuck" she said mid laugh. She pulled me down with her and we both sprawled on the floor laughing. With tears streaming down our faces I glanced over at her. She looked in my direction and we both shared a glance, what that glance meant neither of us knew but we were sure to find out.
