The Harsh Truth

Wails, sweat, blood, tears.

Consumed by the microscopic battles within,

With no chance of being the victor.

Hardened flesh to protect

Against the hardships of simple movements.

Working to live,

Survive,

As the proverbial clock slowly ticks

Down to the shortened end,

A disadvantage

Compared to the length of time for the elite.

Losing life's nearly 'endless' battles

From the beginning moment of birth.

Insignificant.

In the global scale,

Tossed aside mentally for selfish means.

Cleanliness to faith, health to suffering.

Water to disease, life to death.

Homeless, hungry, hurting, ill,

Dying.
