A few days went by and almost everything was back to normal. With the exception of randomly talking to David for a few moments on the school hallways.
We would usually have a few sarcastic comments prepared for each other and that would be it.
I never considered talking to him as something I would do on a regular basis.
So the weekend came and just flew by so it was Monday again.
I liked Mondays. I know it's weird but for me, they are like a blessing. Life goes back to normal on Monday and because of school I usually didn't have any time to think too much - I would usually just work and read all the time.
So I thought this Monday wouldn't be any different. God damn, how wrong I was.
So it was just a regular Monday morning - I drank my coffee, walked to school, had morning meeting with my friends and all the usual stuff. My schedule was quite ok - Biology, Music, lunch break, Math, Literature and P.E. Not so bad.
Soon the classes were over and they were as boring as usual. But I wasn't done yet. Instead of going home like the rest of my schoolmates I made my way to a place where I had at least a little peace to do my homework- the school library.
I walked up the stairs and stepped inside the library. I greeted the librarian- one of our literature teachers and she immediately showed me the new book that arrived. She liked me, because I was one of the rare students that actually read books and spent time in the library. After we talked for a while I made my way towards the studying tables.
And right there sitting behind a computer, with his legs on the table was David. He turned his head at the sound of my footsteps and his eyes met mine. "Oh, hi!"
I'm not sure what surprised me more - that he was in the library or that he actually greeted me.
"Hi," I quickly said back and took a seat. I pulled out my books and started doing my homework. I heard him typing for some time and dozed off in my thoughts.
What interrupted my concentration was him taking a seat next to me. "What?" I asked confused.
"Nothing. I was just watching you do your homework."
"Don't you have anything else to do?"
"I already did it and now I'm bored." He smirked.
"Well then... I don't know. Watch some hockey I guess?" I said. I didn't know much about hockey. I have only began watching it in February when Olympics took place. Since that, I guess I cheered for team Finland and I guess Tuukka Rask was my favourite player. And because of that I guess I began watching the NHL Boston Bruins too. I didn't understand everything but I liked the game.
"Wait, you know hockey?" He asked, clearly shocked.
"A bit," I answered shyly.
"The Kings rule, don't they?" His smirk appeared again.
I didn't know much hockey, but I didn't like LA Kings. I don't know why, even if Kopitar was like a national hero, but I guess they just weren't my choice.
"No, they don't. Boston is the right answer," I replied back.
He frowned. "Boston? Those assholes of Massachusetts? Oh, come on."
"Hey! Don't talk about them like that!" I said angrily. Sure, I didn't know a lot about them, but no one except me was allowed to insult them.
"Yeah, yeah. And who's your favourite asshole?" He continued.
"Tuukka Rask and he is NOT an asshole."
"Oh, he's the biggest idiot of them all! Oh my god, where the fuck did you find Boston?" He said with a smirk and a fake disappointment on his face.
"In the NHL," I answered and threw my books in my bag. The bell rang and I headed out of the library. He followed me and just before I turned towards the stairs he stopped.
"Well, bye." He said.
"Bye." I answered and started walking down the stairs.""Hmph, Boston.." was what I heard him spat under his breath and I couldn't help but to roll my eyes and chuckle.
