Bruises and Caresses

Chapter 13

And that's when I woke up... 

((Eren's POV))

"Ah!" I gasped as I jolted up. I was in a hospital bed with a bunch of IV's connected to me. "W.. Where am I..?" 

"Eren!" I heard a voice scream. I turned my head and saw Levi sitting in a chair next to me, he looked as if he was about to cry. "L.. Levi..?" I said. It was hard for me to talk. "W.. W-what's g-going on..?" I stuttered out.

"Eren, don't try to talk, you're still really hurt.." 

I'm hurt..? What does that mean? What happened?

"Eren.. I've missed you so much.." Levi said who looked to be on the verge of tears. "You don't know how long I've waited for you to wake up.." Levi said with a smile. Wait, he's smiling? He never smiles, the only time I've ever seen him smile was when he proposed to me on our 1 year anniversary at our favorite restaurant..

"L-Levi.. I.." I said as Levi put grabbed my hand. Wait.. he didn't propose to me at our favorite restaurant.. He proposed to me in the park at night under the stars.. 

And that's when it hit me.. Everything that happened. Levi beating me. Him threatening to kill Armin if I ever saw him again. Keeping me under house arrest. He's probably the one who put me in this hospital!

"G.. Get a-away f-from me..!" I managed to scream out as I jerked my hand away from his, which was pretty hard since I can barely move still.

"Eren, what's wrong?!" Levi exclaimed.

"Y.. You.. Y-you put me here.. Didn't you?!" Levi looked shocked. "Why would you think that?! I would never hurt you, Eren!"

"Y-you.. You liar..!" 

Levi looked completely hurt.. Why is he reacting this way? He never shows concern for me.. Why can't I figure out what's going on?!

"Eren.. I.." Levi mumbled. "Why.. Why would you think I would ever hurt you..? I'd never do anything like that, you're the love of my life, why would you ever think I'd do anything to cause you harm?!" Levi exclaimed. 

"B-but.. Y-you hit me.. F-for months on end, I-"

"Eren, I never did any of that!" Levi interrupted as he grabbed my shoulders. "Where the hell did you even get something like that?!"

I stayed silent. Levi looked down as tears fell down his face. "Eren.." he said. "Do you even know what happened..?" I stayed quiet. Levi looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "Eren.. You've been in a coma for the past six months.. We were in a car accident.."

My eyes widened with shock. This entire time.. It's been a dream..? "H-how did that.. Did that happen..?" I asked. 

"We were driving one night and a drunk drive hit us.. You received severe injuries to your head.." Levi said. "The doctors said they didn't know how long you'd be in a coma for.. It was on out 1 year anniversary.." 

And that's when it all started coming back to me.. The white light, the loud crash, the pain in my head, my body being numb.. I remember now. Tears started to form in my eyes. "L-Levi.." I said. "I-I'm.. Sorry.." I said as I began to sob. "I-I'm so sorry..!" I looked up with tears streaming down my face. Levi pulled me into a tight embrace. "Eren.." he said as I sobbed into his shoulder. I managed to wrap my arms around him, even though it was hard to move. "Eren.. I've missed you so much.. I.." 

"Levi.. I'm so s-sorry.." Levi pulled away from our hug and wiped the side of my face with his thumb. "Don't be.." he said. "Eren.. I was so lost without you, I'd thought I'd never be able to see you again.." 

"Levi.." was I could manage to say. "I love you.." 

"I love you too, brat.." He replied as he cupped the sides of my face and planted a sweet and tender kiss on me. "I'm never going to let you go again.." 

**AUTHORS NOTE**

Okay! So all of that happened! I am going to do another chapter, because who likes just a happy ending, right? I will be making at least 1 or 2 (possibly 3, depending on where the story goes) more chapters. Eren will remember more things, see Armin again, build back his relationship with Levi, maybe even a wedding? We shall find out!
