Out Of My Limit

Chapter 3

"I am so not ready for school to begin"
I said as we were all on our way to the local mall to start clothes shopping.
This had been the best summer I could remember for the longest time and I really didn't want it to get ruined by school.

"We all hate school Marrissa, but hey after this only 2 more years and then we're free!" Michael said and through his hands into the air hitting Luke square in the nose. "Michael I don't think you realize Jess, Luke, and I are a year younger than you and Calum. We've got thee years left in this hell hole." I sigh and role my eyes. "Also, I think you forget that after this you have Uni." Jessica brought up. He pouted and said " Don't remind me hopefully our band will have made it big by then and I won't have to go."

We all laugh at the thought of 5 Seconds of Summer actually becoming a big deal. Don't get me wrong the boys are amazingly talented, but what were the chances of this small band making it anywhere? "We'll make it big when pigs fly and eat bacon." Ashton says pulling into the mall. "What the hell kind of expression was that Ash?" Jessica says shoving his shoulder. "The good kind." he says smiling back at her in the rearview mirror. Everyone makes gagging noises and gets out of the car.

I have my whole wardrobe planned out for the year. Flannels and black jeans, with black shirts for as far as the eye can see. Along with shirts with the bands that I like, like blink-182, The 1975, and All Time Low. We get into a store and I begin my search, but everything A.) Doesn't fit or B.) Is way to expensive. "Why the hell would I pay $50 for a flannel and black jeans?" I say looking through racks. "Hey Marrissa come over here I wanna show you something!" Luke says calling me over to the male section of the store. He's probably going to gloat because he knows I'm having troubles finding clothes. I walk over to him as he's pulling clothes out of the racks. "Yes Hemmings?" I say with my arms crossed, if he was going to make fun of me I was ready. "I know you're having a bit of trouble finding clothes at a good price. The flannels in this side of the store are like 10 bucks cheaper than they are over there." He says handing me a few. I look through them, and they all look super cute and really comfortable and I could get four of them for $20!! I smile "Wow thanks Luke, I never would have thought of coming to the guys section to look!"

I take those flannels 2 pairs of jeans, and a few cute shirts I saw on clearance and went to go try them on. Everything fit perfectly, but I wanted to get a second opinion. "Hey Luke come here for a sec!" I call Luke over and take a step out of the dressing room. He walks over finishing up a conversation with Calum and takes a look at me. "Does this outfit look okay? I feel like the jeans are too baggy at the bottom." He kind of just stands there for a few seconds and then finally says "Uh you actually look great! I feel like I'm taking a trip back to the 90s." He says with a goofy little grin in his face. I smile and go back to change.

I come out and Jessica is waiting for me. "I saw that little scene you had with Luke he was checking you out like you two were in a grocery store!" Before I do anything I face palm myself at her strange simile and then speak. "Jessica 1st he was not checking me out 2nd of all even if he was what does that have to do with anything? The clothes were really cute!" I say shrugging my shoulders. She rolls her eyes and says "Ruthie when will you realize that he likes you? You guys have chemistry! You are both awkward, and shy!" I play with my sleeves and start to walk towards check out.

"I doesn't matter! He doesn't see it that way... And probably never will so we all just need to get over it." I say putting my head down and waiting in line to be checked out, today wasn't ending as well as I'd thought it would and I kind of just wanted to go home. Jessica puts her hands on my shoulders and before I can say anything she shakes them, like how we used to do when we were little. Before I knew it I was laughing because neither of us had done that in years. "Okay, okay what are you trying to get across?" I say between laughter. She stops shaking me and says "You underestimate yourself Marrissa! You need to understand that you are an amazing person and that even if Luke didn't like you -which he does- he would be stupid for not liking you." I look down and play with my sleeves again. She lightly hits me in the shoulder "You've had that habit for so long why do you do it?" She asks I think to myself but can't think of a reason "You know now that I think about it I have no idea! But thank you for what you said about Luke, it helped a bit." I say giving her a hug. "Yeah I know I'm good at the whole advice thing it's kinda my thing." I end the hug shaking my head " You just killed the moment!" We both laugh, pay for our clothes and wait for the boys to be done.

Luke's P.O.V.

"Calum she looked so good you don't even know! I don't even have words she looked so good." I say trying to put my thoughts into words. I've had a thing for Marrissa for a few years, but I'm such a loser I don't even try. "Luke why don't you just tell her how you feel, you telling me isn't making you and her any closer, and it sure as hell isn't making us closer!" He says laughing and looking through clothes.

"I know she doesn't like me like that though, she's just... Ugh I don't even know what I'm trying to say! If I can't even explain the way I feel to you how am I supposed to explain the way I feel to her?!" I say trying to hide my frustration with myself. I have such a hard time just trying to act normal in front of her, I couldn't even tell her she looked amazing in her new clothes without practically falling on the floor! "Luke you're a fucking musician! If you can't say the words, sing them!" Calum says slapping me on the back of the head. "I think that is literally the best idea you have ever had in the history of ever! Thank you!!" I say and we both grab our clothes and go to check out. "You all are going to have to help me put this together, I want to perform it to her myself but I need a bit of help putting all of it together. Are you willing to help?" I ask Calum. "Uh duh it was my idea if you didn't ask me to help I would be highly offended!" We check out and go sit by the girls as we wait for Mikey and Ashton to finish up.

A/N sorry it took so long to update guys my WiFi is really bad and is really iffy! I'm going to try and update as much as possible though, I hope you liked it.
