"The alarm for critical failure just sounded. I had told them that the fissure was unstable. At least I was able to convince them that the laboratory and base of operations needed to be built underground. They listened to my reasoning that time, but why not this time? I had data, EVIDENCE, to back it all up! But no, no, I had to be silenced. Now I'm trapped here. Why couldn't they understand that the fissure was getting wider and wider by the second?! Now we were doomed, and not only were our lives over, we have cursed the land we reside under. I hope that some people survive the explosion. It's going to rock the entire U.S. I hope that someone will find this journal and understand that I, and my fellow scientists, did all we could to stop this. I tried to change this.
