I love my job, I thought to myself as I stepped forward and shot a guy in the leg as he tried to run.

" sorry to spoil your fun but i'd prefer this party didn't go out with a bang,"I shrugged as I stepped towards the man, my black silk dress swaying with my hips. I grabbed the phone out of his hand as he tried to detonate the bomb.

I deactivated it with the skill of a professional and used the heel of my stilettos to prevent the mans attempted escape.

"There's no point, your already surrounded," I stated casually as 30 or so police officers burst onto the roof through the stairwell. Good timing.

I flicked my smooth black hair over my shoulder and handed the phone to the commanding chief of police.

"Thankyou Miss Perkins, once again we owe you the greatest gratitude,"

" I'm just doing my job Mr Danelly," I smiled politely. He always was such a sweet man, and his wife loved to have me round for dinner. I knew I could always count on him, he was practically a dad to me and was one of the few people who knew me properly.

" I have to go now Sir, they need me back at base so I can be debriefed." I called over my shoulder as I rushed down the stairwell.

Back at base Lennie, my boss, called me up to her office. I walked swiftly into the elevator and clicked the button for the top floor. I don't know why every person I've ever met who has had power feels like they need to have the top floor of a building. I guess it makes them feel safer because if there was a break in they would be the last one to get killed/ robbed? However, it also meant they had no exit and would have to wait, knowing they were going to get killed/ robbed with no way out. Personally I would prefer to have a room underground with a dozen exit tunnels leading to various places, but that might just be because of my training and slight paranoia due to me having To witness my parents death. I try not to remember that day but every night it forces it's way into my mind reminding me I am NEVER going to be safe. Reminding me that no matter how far I run, I will always be marked. Forever.
