Chapter 1: The trade

Violet's P.O.V:

I trotted to the local trade market with my bag of bits. I would've flown but as per usual, I can't fly. I went up to the artifacts booth and saw a yellow mare with dark grey young hair. I smiles and looked at the artifacts, none of then weren't what she was looking for. "May I help you?" I heard the mare ask snapping me back to look into her pale green eyes. "Oh hey, yeah. Do you have the totem of crystals? My friend really wanted one for his birthday." I smiled. "Oh, yeah, it's right here." She turned around to get the item and that's when I saw her round belly. 'Was she...pregnant?' I thought. "Here Ya are! One Crystal totem! Be general with it now, it's fragile. Now. That'll be 5 bits please!" She said setting it in front of me. "Oh, of course!" I picked up the totem with my horn and set my bag of bits on the counter and payed out five bits. I started at what was left in the bag and I found only 2 more bits left. Suddenly two fillies ran past me bumping into me and I dropped the totem and it shattered on the ground. I gasped. "Oh no! That took me HOURS to find! You're gonna pay for that!" The mare scolded and I flinched when she took out a whip that matched her cutie mark and it made a snapping sound as she whipped it at me wrapping it around my hooves dragging me towards her. I starred up at her wide eyed and looked away awaiting my beating, but it never came. I looked back up at her and she was inches from my face. "Let's make a trade." She smirked.
