Val's POV~
"Morning," I smiled to Cam as he came down the stairs.
"Why are you up so early?," he asked.
"Rachel is doing some protest or "save the..." something today and wanted my help I guess," I told him.
"Help with what?," he asked.
"I don't know, posters I'm guessing," I shrugged.
Some of the others joined us.
"Okay, I have to get going, Rachel's meeting me at the bus stop," I told Cam.
"There's bacon in the kitchen and I made pancake mix. Hopefully one of you can cook it," I told the guys.
I poured them all some orange juice.
"Bye," I side hugged Cam as I left.
I walked to the bus stop and saw Rachel was already there.
"Hey, Rach," I smiled.
"Hey Val, ready?," she asked.
"Yep, but what exactly are we doing?," I asked.
"Spreading word about Sam Hughes Hospital," she told me hesitantly. (I don't know if that's a real hospital or not)
"It's okay, we can totally do that," I smiled.
"But, what do you need my help with?," I asked.
"Posters and one more thing, but I'll tell you about that when we get there," she told me.
Cam's POV~
"Dude, your sister is, like, the best," Carter said.
"I know, I'm pretty lucky our parents got together, even if it was pretty rough. I still love my dad though," I told them.
"She seems happy though," Nash said.
"Yeah, right now she does, hopefully she stays happy," I said absentmindedly.
Val's POV~
"No," I told Rachel.
"Please?!," she begged.
"No way, never in a million years," I told her.
"But my cousin backed out and I need someone to sing "Fix You"," she told me.
"I can't sing though," I told her.
"Who cares?! I just need someone to sing the song," Rachel said.
"Fine, but if their ears start bleeding, it's on you," I told her.
"Yay! Thank you!," she hugged me.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever," I grumbled.
I walked out to the crowd of people that had gathered for Rachel's, well, whatever this was.
"Um, hi. I'm apparently going to be singing "Fix You" for you today for this, raising awareness thing. I apologize ahead of time because I can't sing," I told them.
They laughed at the last part. Anyway, I took a deep breath and started singing.
When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
I will try to fix youHigh up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
