  May. 25th

I woke up to the sound of my bedroom door opening, I may of freaked out and screamed.

"Shh Alana, it's okay. It's just me Liz." I heard a women's voice as I peeled my face from behind my blanket.

"Hey sorry, didn't mean to scare you I just wanted to check that you were okay." She smiled sitting on the end of my bed. "Your dad, said that they had to go away for treatment in Western Australia, so he said you could stay with us. Only for a week or two. He said you should stay here and go to school. We have a spare bedroom for you with a bathroom." She said while standing up "or you could stay here and one of us can just one check up on you."

I wasn't sure what to say I mean, Richard and Cindy are going to Western Australia! This must be really bad.

"Uhhh, can I get back to you." I smiled, she nodded and walked out of my room. I sat in silence for a while just with my thoughts.

'What the fuck!'

I reached over, slightly falling on the floor to grab my phone. 9 messages and 4 phone calls. Shit. I took my phone off of charge and started to go through the messages.

Richard 😇😈 - it's not looking very good.
Richard 😇😈 -  I hope you're okay, sleep well.
Richard 😇😈 - we may need to go to Western Australia for treatment.
Richard 😇😈 - the doctors said we need to.
Richard 😇😈 - you can stay with the Hemmings while we are away. For a week or two.
Richard 😇😈 - we are leaving as soon as possible, so tonight.
Richard 😇😈 - we would take you but I want you to go to school. I was thinking with Luke..?
Richard 😇😈 - I'm sorry that we are going to miss your birthday Alana, but Cindy is very sick.
Richard 😇😈 - I told Liz, she said it's fine if you stay with her. Could you please pack Cindy and I bags. Liz said she will drop them off to us and you come so we can say goodbye. Okay see you later, love you.

To Richard 😇😈 - it's okay, I'll pack your bags, see you later, love you.

I turned off my phone and let myself fall out of bed on to the hard floor, I kind of just laid there for about 5 minutes before I hesitantly stood up. I put my phone on my dock and played some music, why not have a little fun. I started to dance around a bit and sing really loud to 'road trippin - Red hot chilli peppers'.

I ran into Richard and Cindys room and grabbed them about 6 outfits each. I packed them 3 pairs of pyjamas, 5 pairs of socks and about 20 pairs of undies and some bras. I also packed their toiletries and there chargers.
"Okay so I think I'm done." I say as I stand up finally feeling pain from sitting and kneeling on the floor for that long.

I pick up the rather heavy bags and drag them down the stairs, I may not have very much upper strength but I could do some damage with my legs. I open my door and try and lift the bags to Liz's house. Eventually I get there and I knock on the door. After about a minute or so she answers "oh hey Alana. Did you pack there things." "let me help you." She grabbed the heaviest bag and carried it to the car. She quickly ran back inside grabbed the keys and unlocked the car, she opened the boot and we placed the bags down.

"ready to go." She smiled hopping in the car, "yeah." I got in to the passengers side and put on my seat belt. "Do you know where the hospital is?" I asked looking around as we drove through the city, "yeah it's about 10 minutes away." I saw her hand move from the corner of my eye, then I heard the radio come on... Well I think it was the radio. "What's this song?" I listened carefully, taking in the lyrics
"It's called long way home, it's my sons song." She smiled, obviously very proud.

"He is very talented Liz." I smiled looking out the window.
"Thanks, I'm very proud, it just sucks that it hasn't gone further than playing in the garage. I mean it's there dream to be a famous rock band. They write there on songs, play their own instruments. They are wasting their opportunity's." She sighed, after about 3-4 more of their songs, I heard her put on the blinker, I looked over and saw the car park. We parked pretty close to the entrance.

I quickly took my belt off and jumped out the car, the boot was already opened and I grabbed one of the bags out, Liz grabbed the other and we walked to the entrance. I proceeded to walk up to the counter "um excuse me, I'm here to visit Cindy Parker and Richard Stanley." I smiled, at the blonde sitting at the desk, she was looking through the computer. A few clicks after and she told me their room number, the floor, area and we were on our way to their room.

After about 10 minutes of walking about we made it to room 436 "Hey Cindy." I said quietly as she was the only person I could see, she was sitting on the end of the bed crying. I quickly dropped the bag and ran to her, sitting by her side and rubbing her back "what's wrong?"

"The baby, probably isn't going to make it." She sobbed into her hands, I wasn't sure what to say. I just rested my head on her shoulder and hugged her as tight as possible. I felt a tear start to run down my cheek, I wiped it with the back of my hand. I heard footsteps and saw Richard come in from the bathroom "oh hey Alana." He fake smiled, I could feel the sadness in the room. "Well we have to go now Alana,  I'm sorry we won't be there for your birthday but I have a surprise. We will see you when we get back, thanks for packing for us. Don't get in any trouble or I'll kill you." He laughed and hugged me tightly but I could partly tell he was serious, he didn't need the extra stress.

"Don't worry I'll be fine, make sure you look after her." I smiled hugging them both and walking out of the room.
