When Castiel fell, he fell in every way you could possibly fall. He fell from grace, he fell from power, and most importantly, he fell in love. He also fell into a really bad habit.
"Cas, are you stoned?" Dean shakily whispered.
"Generally, yeah." Castiel laughed.
This is the first time in two years Dean had seen Cas. When Castiel fell from grace, he wanted to be alone. He left, and now Castiel was standing on his doorstep, stoned out of his mind. Dean fearfully let his eyes roam over his Castiel's face. He was scruffy, and he looked tired. He looked into his glazed over eyes, and he felt his heart break. Cas raised his eyebrows.
"So Deano, you gonna let me in?"
"Deano?" Dean whispered to himself. Since when is that a thing that he calls me? He nodded his head and shakily stepped aside to let the Broken man into his home. Castiel stumbled in like he owned the place, and threw his body down onto Dean's beat up couch.
"You got any chips or anything? M'starving."
Dean looked at Castiel in confusion. This was not his Castiel. This was a version of Castiel that the world had shaped, a rude, non caring, version that Dean wasn't sure if he liked or not. But he was still Cas and he was here. Dean shook his head, trying to wake up from this nightmare.
"Yeah I- hold on." Dean said, his voice cracking. He choked back tears, taking one last look at Castiel before walking into his little kitchen. Why am I crying? Come on Dean. Get it together. Man up. He braced his hands against his grey tiled counter, leaning against it. Pushing himself up, he furiously wiped his face and proceeded to get all the things out to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. As he smeared the last of the jelly on the sandwich, he heard Castiel singing a song. He got teary eyed again when he realized that the lyrics fit the situation perfectly.
Open your hand, Take a glass.
Don't be scared, I'm right here
Even though, You don't roll
