I woke early, it was the day! I had been waiting for this day for almost a year. I was finnaly going to the Gaeltacht! I had everything packed and waiting at the door even though I wouldn't be leaving for another few hours. I whittled away the time by watching TV, nothing special just some old episodes of Friends.

Finally, mammy came into the sitting room and asked if I was ready-this is her way of saying we're leaving now-"yes!" I shouted. I ran out of the room with a big grin on my face and raced outside to the car. It was a 3/4 of a hour drive to the hotel where the bus would collect everyone that was going. I could barely contain my excitement, singing along to the radio at the top of my lungs.

When we finally arrived at the hotel we were early. I got out of the car and started to walk around it, needing something to keep me occupied. I saw a few more car pull up into the car park and some people my age and maybe slightly older than me get out to stretch their legs. Three people-two girls and a boy-got out of a big white car and my first thought when I saw them was "wow, they look so cool" the boy was about 16 or 17, with black hair gelled to the side and glasses, the taller of the two girls was blonde with a very lean physique, she looked vaguely familiar for some reason that I could not think of just then, the other girl was fairly average height with mousy brown sort of hair. Their names I would later find out were Cormac, Meg and Clare.

About 20 minutes after I spotted those three I finally saw the bus approach. The bus driver made it very awkward for himself in the way he decided to enter the car park, a dirty blonde haired man that even from a distance I could tell had a special twinkle in his eye stepped off the bus and guided the bus driver safely into the car park. The bus stopped almost directly in front of my car and I rushed to get my bag. I carried it over to the side of the bus where all the suitcases where being put, my mammy had followed me over. The handsome blonde asked in a deep, sexy, west Donegal accent,"you for the Irish college?"
"Yes", I replied blushing slightly.
"That's grand, on you get", he said gesturing toward the bus.
I rushed onto the bus not even stopping to give my mammy a hug goodbye or anything. I was finally going!

I walked slowly down the bus looking for a seat, when I noticed that there wasn't any by themselves I sat down next to a blonde girl with glasses. The seat was just in front of the emergency exit. There was two lads sitting behind me and two lads sitting across the aisle and back a row. These lads were being very noisy and some were making homophobic and racist jokes, I had them labeled as fuckboys straight away.

When everyone was on the bus the handsome blonde started to walk down the aisle counting the people, he was counting in Irish as we were going there to learn Irish. When he got to the back he shouted something to the driver and the bus started moving again. He started heading back up to the front and just as he was passing by me a one of the lads making the "funny" jokes said to him "do we have to chat in Irish already? We aren't even there yet"
"Darndale* is it? Well you're going here to learn Irish for two weeks, a few hours isn't going to really make a difference is it?"he replied cooly.
*the lad had been shouting about being from darndale moments ago*
The lad sat down slowly and the handsome blonde carried on up to the front where I saw him take off his jacket, store it in the over head and sit down.

I had been laughing at the way this handsome blonde had talked to the lad while I was watching him and only when I turned back around did I notice all the lads saying stuff about me and calling me "random girl" because I hadn't told them my name yet. The lad who was sitting the closest to me said "hi, my names Matthew, what's yours?" I had so far thought he was one of the worst ones because he was making a lot of comments about gay and bisexual people so I only replied with my name and a dissaproving smirk.
