The sun was beating down on my bare pale chest as I glanced at the guards, there were four of them, two were at the entrance to the castle and the other two were patrolling the front grounds.
'Then there's the other four at the back entrance and the ten just randomly wandering around...' I sighed, 'What a waste of time...'
I easily scaled the crumbling brick wall I had been peeking around. I paused on top of the seven foot wall to watch the guards movements. The ones at the gate didn't seem to move and were probably asleep.
'Even if they are out, I have to treat them as though they're awake.' I watched them.
I slowly began walking across the top of the wall, careful not to knock off any loose rocks or bricks. My dark eyes never wavered from the guards. I continued this until lost my footing and fell off the wall.
"Huh!?" I heard someone gasp, "What was that!?"
I groaned quietly from the bush I fell into. I landed on one of my arms, which was now full of thorns. I squeezed my eyes shut as pain ran through my arm. My other arm was suspended over my head by a few thorny stems. Both my legs were underneath me and not riddled with thorns, surprisingly. Once the guards passed my pinned body I tried to untangle my arms. I froze when a guard that I hadn't noticed stood near my 'hiding spot.' The guard's black and white uniform waved in pristine perfection as he walked towards my direction.
'He's probably one of the guards that has been randomly patrolling, just stay quiet,' I watched the bulky guard come closer, 'He doesn't know I'm here, struggling will give me away. I just have to stay calm.'
The dark haired guard looked curiously at the bush and looked ready to search it when the sun seemed suddenly to scream at the guard and blinded him. He stumbled away from the bush blinking his eyes harshly.
"Hey, you find anyone?" One of the entrance guards questioned.
"No, I didn't find anyone, I can't even see right now." The guard growled, rubbing his brown eyes.
The other entrance guard, with dark brown, smirked, "What, did Apollo get mad at you?"
The guard looked up at him and squinted, wait is he trying to glare?
'Are they really... Quarreling?' I raised an eyebrow, amused.
The dark haired guard walked towards the gate shouting at the entrance guards.
I chuckled,'They are...'
I slowly untangled my arms from the thorns. I groaned as the thorn dug further into my arm sparking up waves of pain. My long black hair fell into my face as the thorns tugged at my ponytail. I frowned looking down at my bloody and torn up arm. I pulled the sleeves of my long black trench to clean the blood. After I cleaned it, I noticed that the cuts had stopped bleeding. It still hurt to move it much, but I had to keep going.
'Good, now I just have to sneak in properly.' I thought scowling.
I crouched by the bush that had captured me and began slowly moving towards the arch of the entrance to the castle. My hair brushing against my shoulders as I moved.
'I should probably cut my hair soon it's getting long,' I thought randomly, brushing my hair back, 'The king won't be happy if the Sun's monarch thinks I'm a ruffian because of my hair .'
I kept to the shadows and foliage of the front lawn until I made it to the worn down arch. I began analyzing the guards and their patrol patterns. It only took me a few moments to learn their habits and soon I quickly found a short moment in which no one is looking at the doorway. The moment came and I rushed towards the door barely managing to make it in before the guards looked.
