L x Light Death Note Fan-fic

Light- ' I've almost done it now, with Misa using the Death Note again it will call suspicion upon her. Rem will have to kill L. Then it would be two birds with one stone. L would finally be out of my way, and I could kill Misa if I wanted. This plan is perfect, everything is going perfectly. I've won.'

Light walks up to the roof, it's pouring rain and he can barely see Ryuzaki standing there staring off in the distance. L notices light staring and turns his head.

" What are you doing standing up there by yourself?" Light calls out but he can barely ever hear him self over the roaring rain. L tilts his head, putting his hand up to his ear.

Light repeats him self louder this time no luck. L smiles a little as the leans in hand still to his ear. Light is annoyed at this point and stumbles out into the rain.

"What are you doing Ryuzaki? " Light asks as he stands closer.

"Oh, I'm not doing anything in particular it's just... I hear the bell."

"The bell?" Light tilts his head.

"Yes. The sound of the bell has been unusually loud today..."

"Hmm? I don't hear anything. " Light looks around.

"Really. You can't hear it? It's been ringing non stop all day. I find it very distracting... I wonder if its a church, or perhaps a wedding maybe it's a-"

"What are you getting at? Let's go back inside." Light snaps.

" I'm sorry, nothing I say makes sense anyway. If, I were you I wouldn't believe any of it." L looks at the ground.

Light pauses, slightly confused.
" I know, you're right. Most of the things you say sound like complete nonsense, there'd be no end to my troubles if I actually took you seriously all the time. I know that better than anyone. "

" Yes. I could say that's a fair assessment but, I could say the same about you."

"Huh? Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Tell me Light, has there ever been a moment since you were born, has there ever been a point where, you actually told the truth?"

Light freezes and stares at L for moment.

*stare down* XD

"Where's this coming from? I do admit I stretch the truth here and there. However, find me one person in this world has never had to tell a lie, it wouldn't be easy. Human beings aren't made to be perfect like that, everybody lies from time to time. Even so, I've always made a conscious effort to not to tell a lie that could hurt others. That's my answer."

L stares for a moment.

"I knew you'd say something like that... Lets go back inside we're both drenched."
