Part - 17

Manbir reached Cabir's place at around 10:30 pm. All the elders had already slept. As manik entered with Cabir navya said,
Navya: ohh, now I get why nandini insisted in making the dinner today, instead of the cooks.... She didn't even let me help her, she knew manik was gonna come.... Come manik, today's dinner is especially 4 u...
Manik & Cabir sat on the dining table... Manik kept on looking here & there.... Cabir thought to tease him about nandini but before that manik asked,
Manik: navya... where's my tiny baby doll...
Navya: kon nandini???
Cabir immediately laughed out loud & manik said,
Manik: navya... tiny baby doll.... How can nandini b that... I m talking about kavya... I knw nandini must b in the kitchen.
Navya: ohh, actually kavya has already slept... she was waiting 4 Cabir but then slept on the couch itself...
Cabir: Aww... my poor baby...!!
Just then nandini entered with a tray in her hand. Navya helped her to serve the food on the table. Navya then served food in Cabir's plate & intentionally asked nandini to serve for manik. Both Manik & Cabir had their 1st bites. The food was awesome but Cabir waited 4 manik to compliment nandini first. But when he didn't Cabir said,
Cabir: till we both r here, manik is not gonna compliment u, but I must say the food is really very delicious.
Nandini smiled at him & manik gave Cabir an angry look. He then turned towards nandini & asked..
Manik: u had the dinner or not???
Navya: no... she hasn't even had a single thing since the evening, I asked her to but as if she listens to me.
Manik heard it & gave nandini a stern look. He picked up a plate by his side & served some food 4 her. He then placed the plate beside his plate & held nandini's hand. Before nandini could say anything, he pulled her towards himself & made her sit beside him. And with this he started feeding her. Cabir smiled at him n said,
Cabir: manik u r ready to feed her by ur hands, but u feel shy to compliment her.... I will really never b able to get ur love...
Manik: Cabir.... my brother.... It will be better if u stop using ur mind in teasing me & realize that ur wife is still hungry, she too hasn't had her dinner...
Cabir turned towards navya & said,
Cabir: navya yr.... how many times I hv told u not to wait 4 me.... Come now sit here.
All the 4 had the dinner & then manik decided to leave. He said bye to all of them & got out of the house. As he left navya said to nandini,
Navya: I guess, he wants u to drop him outside.
Nandini blushed at her & went outside. She found manik waiting for her, standing beside his car.
Manik: the dinner was awesome.... Now u hv to promise me to make dinner 4 me at least once in a week after our marriage.
Nandini: I m ready, to make it 4 u daily...
Manik: no no I won't let u take that trouble at all... by the way nandini I wanted to say something to u...
Nandini: yes manik say.....
Manik: nandini.... Why don't u join the city hospital after marriage..... I mean, u don't actually need to... but it will be nice, if u do. I hv seen ur love towards ur patients & work.
Nandini just smiled at him n said,
Nandini: manik!!! are u again reading my dairy...
Manik: no... not at all why??
Nandini: just yesterday I wrote that I wanted to talk to u about the same.
Manik: (smiling) ohh this tells how well I knw u.... u should b happy that u r getting such an understanding & loving husband....
Nandini: ohh really...
Manik: yes.... See how lucky u r, not every1 is able to get such a life partner.
Nandini: achacha... so what should I do to thank my luck.
Manik: hmn.... U should fulfill ur husband's wishes always.
Nandini smiled at him naughtily & encircled her hands around his neck....
Nandini: so whats my beloved husband's..... sorry to be husband's wish today.
Manik: today... actually I hvn't thought about it yet. So I guess for now just a kiss would be fine.....
Nandini: a kiss... that's it.... Such a small wish.
Manik took his hands to her waist & pulled her closer to himself, making her lean totally over him, both of them were now standing resting on the car.
Manik: I guess for now its fine.... Tomorrow I'll think of something & then let u knw
Nandini: ohk good.... So I guess today I can fulfill ur wish.
Nandini moved closer to him, and was about to kiss him, when navya saw them & immediately turned around saying,
Navya: mata rani ki kasam.... Humne kuch nhi dekha...
Manik n nandini opened their eyes & nandini got away from him
Manik: kya..... kya hua??? Kya nhi dekha...
Navya: ku ch nhi.... I just came to give ur wallet back.... U forget it inside.....
Manik: ohh thanks...
Navya: achacha... gud night I hv to go...
Saying this navya ran inside, leaving nandini smiling broadly at manik's awkwardness.
Manik: seriously, she can b only ur frnd..... Proper timing I must say....
Nandini smiled even broader & said,
Nandini: now u go home & take proper rest & don't forget to hv ur medicines.
Manik smiled & turned around. He sat into the car & started the engine. Just then nandini bent down & kissed his cheek though the window & ran inside saying "gud night manik..... Love u...". Manik smiled as he saw her disappear inside Cabir's house.
The next day, i.e. 2nd feb, manik got up early as he had to go to the office. He hadn't visited the office from a long time & there were a lot of papers to be signed by him, he now being the only head of the Malhotra Industries. He called Cabir n informed him that he won't be going to fab5's office that day & instead go to the malhotra industries office.
Cabir agreed & informed the others. Mukti n aliya selected the photos to be added to the video. And Cabir & Dhruv worked together to club the 5 songs of the album into one. And by the end of the day their work was done. They all wanted to finish it before hand only as the wedding preparations were starting from the next day & they knew they won't get time after this....
It was around 9 pm when manik finished with his work. He called Dhruv, who told him that they all had already completed the work n there was no need for him to come to the office. He then decided to go n meet nandini & hence moved to Cabir's place. As he entered the house at about 10 pm, navya told him that nandini had just slept a few minutes back as she was tired. Manik gave her a disappointed smile & left the place. He had talked to nandini just 2 hrs back & told her that he was busy so he wouldn't be able to come & thus, nandini too slept early.
The following day, it was 3rd feb & as per plans the preparations were to be started. That morning every1 gathered at Cabir's place to decide & distribute the work. They reached there and had their breakfast..... after the breakfast all of them got settled in the living room & Amms started.
Amms: see kids, there is a lot of work & thus it needs to b distributed & since u guys want to do it without letting any1 knw, so it bcomes even more difficult. So I hv prepared a list of the major works to be done & it goes as
1) invitation list to be prepared.
2) Invitation cards to be printed & distributed.
3) Venue for each ceremony.
4) Shopping
5) Food, Décor & Lights for each ceremony.
Chachi: u all need to help us....
Cabir: chachi.... V r not letting u all do anything, u just tell us n ur work will be done.
Aliya: yes.... After all its manik & nandini's marriage.... U will see how v all rock it.
Dhruv: so lets decided our work...
Cabir: I'll make the invitation list & Rishab will help me, for the guest from nandini's side.
Dhruv: ohk so I'll get the cards printed..... And v need to make sure no one other than whom we wish gets the card.
Mukti: I & Abhi will decided the venue.... And book then accordingly & plus we'll get the gifts for the guests.
Aliya: Shopping for costumes on me.... And thus matching décor also on me...
Navya: food on me...
Dhruv: I'll do the lights as well.
Manik: guys at least leave one thing 4 me... what will I do???
Mukti: manik it's ur marriage u just enjoy.... Remember how u didn't let me work on mine.
Aliya: same goes with mine & Dhruv's also.
Cabir: ohh I m also here, he did the same in my case.
Dhruv: so now, buddy u will relax & let us work..... Moreover u r not yet fully recovered also.
Navya: it's a lot to do, so let's start.
They all got up & dispersed here n there, deciding work. Amms turned towards nandini n said
Amms: nandu.... I can't tell u how much happy I m to see all this.... I m happy see that u r going in such an awesome family.... U r very lucky to hv a guy like manik in ur life, he really loves u a lot & his eyes tell that clearly.
Nandini looked towards manik, who was standing at the other corner with chachi.... The smile on her face was noticed by Amms, she took some kajal frm her eyes & applied it behind her ear saying "may this smile never fade away from ur face...". She got up n applied the same behind manik's ears as well. They all started leaving & got out of the house. They were about to get into the car when nandini came running out of the house with a glass of water in her hand.
Manik: kya hua nandini???
Nandini: I knw u again skipped ur medicine today.... Didn't u???
Manik: no I didn't.... I hv had all my medicines.
Nandini: manik don't lie... I can clearly see it on ur face....
Manik: areey but-
Canir: manik yr.... if nandini is saying it with such confidence I m sure that u skipped it today... now don't argue & accept it fast.
Manik: ohk fine... yes I skipped them....
Nandini gave him a stern look & gave the glass of water to him, she inserted her hand in her pocket & picked out his medicines & gave it to him.
Aliya: nandini... do u carry his medicines everywhere??
Nandini: what can I do?? Ur frnd never listens to me... he always skips his medicines.
Manik: now if u r done with ur complaining..... Shall we go...
Nandini: when did I stop u.... you can go... bye.
Nandini turned n started walking inside, just then manik held her hand & pulled her towards himself. Fab4 smiled at it & turned their faces towards the other side to sit in the car.
Nandini: manik what r u doing??? Every1 is here...
Manik: ohh really??? But I don't think they r watching us...
Nandini: manik leave me...
Manik: first u fulfill my that night's wish....
Nandini: ohk I promise to fulfill it today, but not now in the night... nandini promise.
Manik left her hand n winked at her... he got into the car & all of them left the place.
The next week passed on very fast... the preparations were all going on track. The functions were to be held as,
11th feb: ring ceremony
12th feb: mehndi & sangeet
13th feb: haldi
14th feb: wedding
15th feb: fab5's surprise party for nandini...
It was 9th feb and nandini was sleeping till late that morning, when mukti, aliya & navya entered her room.
Navya: nandu.... How can u sleep till so late get up.
Mukti: get up nandini...
Nandini: good mrng guys... u all here, so early??
Aliya: get ready fast we all hv to go out...
Nandini: where??
Aliya: for ur shopping... I hv brought dresses for all the others according to the different ceremonies, only u n manik r left...
Nandini got up & had a bath soon. After that all the 4 couples, i.e., manan, cavya, dhruliya & mukbhi went to the mall. They entered a bridal show room & all were selecting dresses for nandini. All this while nandini n manik were busy staring at each other & making naughty actions towards each other. Aliya, mukti & navya selected a few dresses for nandini & then aliya said to her,
Aliya: nandini come.... U try these on & then we'll decide which one to choose.
Nandini overheard her as she was busy in her long distance eye to eye communication with manik. All of them smiled looking at manan & then aliya held nandini's hand n said,
Aliya: if u both r done with ur eye to eye talks then come, u hv to try on these dresses.
They had to buy 2 western outfits for the ring ceremony & the surprise party. Since nandini didn't knw about the other thus, aliya told her that the other one is an extra for some emergency. And with that they wanted Indian outfits for all the other functions. Nandini tried the 1st dress & came out of the trial room. As she came out all the jaws dropped seeing her. They all complimented her for her beauty. She was wearing a black full length backless gown, with white designs overall. Aliya finalized it for the ring ceremony & then said,
Aliya: now I want all the boys out of here...
Cabir: why???
Aliya: coz u all hv to take manik out...
Dhruv: but y can't manik stay...
Aliya: bcoz if he does, then he'll see nandini in all these dresses & I want manik's eyes popped out by seeing nandini in the ceremonies not here.
Nandini blushed at it n soon all the boys were pushed out. Nandini tried the other dresses & they finalized them. After that nandini n navya headed towards home & mukti n aliya along with the boys went 4 manik's shopping..... It took them all day to complete the work.
The next morng, fab5 went to a jewelry store to get a ring 4 nandini. The shopkeeper went on bringing beautiful rings one after the other but manik didn't like even one for nandini. They moved frm one store to the other. After roaming around for 3 hours , when they were sitting in the 4th store aliya said,
Aliya: manik, what r u doing??? U r not even liking one of them.... I feel like buying all, these r so pretty.... At least tell us what kind of a ring u r looking for nandini...
Manik: I don't knw yr... but I knw it's none amongst these....
Cabir: manik... ring ceremony is tomorrow, if u'll look like this then the marriage date won't come even the next year.
Manik: Cabir yr I need something unique.... Something so beautiful that the moment v see it our eyes pop out....
Mukti: then I don't knw where r u going to get ur kind of a ring.....
Manik looked here n there & suddenly his eyes fell on a beautiful diamond ring. He asked the attendant to show him that ring. As the attendant got it manik's lips curved in a smile. He picked up that ring, it was a nice ring, with some star designs over it. He passed the ring to aliya & her face was enough to tell how much she loved it. All of them liked it & manik asked the attendant to pack it. It was a quite expensive one, but 4 nandini manik just needed the best. While getting out of the store Dhruv said ,
Dhruv: I seriously feel spending 3 hrs was worth it 4 this ring...
Mukti: manik ur choice is really commendable.
Manik smiled at her n finally they all headed home.
