A/N: This oneshot features @Kleptophobia's OC Lennypaw and my OC Seagull.

Seagull flicked her tail, looking carefully up and down the dusty path. Forests stretched behind her, and the sea stretched in front of her. It was a perfect setup, as far as her opinion went, not that it meant much. A dark-furred wolf stood next to her, shaking her head pompously.

"What is it, Kurai?" Seagull grumbled, trying to quiet her annoyance. Kurai had been her traveling companion for about a year now. She was too smart for her own good and was the bossiest wolf in creation. Seagull was beginning to suspect Kurai thought she was better than her because she was a wolf, and Seagull was an unrealistic cross between a cat and a common gull. Seagull twitched her tail irritably and flattened her ears as she shot Kurai a sideways glance.

"I just can't believe you're back in the pirate business." Kurai huffed, hackles rising slightly. Seagull rolled her eyes. No one stops being a pirate just because they leave the open seas. In fact, the strange cat was starting to think that it was all she was good for, but shoved the though away whenever it crossed her mind.

"I said you didn't have to come. Besides," Seagull flashed the uptight black wolf a gap-toothed smile, "Once a thief, always a thief. Sh!" She added, perking up her ears. Pawsteps sounded on the path they sat beside. Kurai let out a long-suffering sigh and hunkered down behind a rock to watch as the catgull retreated into the bushes. Seagull lashed her tail, full of anticipation. She'd waited years to get back to doing this.

A large cat came into view. He was white and had black spots above his dark gray eyes. Seagull allowed herself a smile. This was going to be too easy. Another cat, and a male as well- she'd have him quick as that. He was carrying a bulging leather bag, making Seagull let out a nearly silent caw of appreciation, only feeling a twinge of fear when she saw the ax dangling from a belt around his stomach. Kurai was making urgent gestures at Seagull to turn back, having obviously spotted the weapon. The catgull snorted softly at the overbearing wolf and sprung at the white cat, bushes rustling.

He turned quickly at the sound, flinging the bag off his shoulder. Seagull crashed into his leg a moment too late and ended up springing away and landing in a crouch, hissing furiously. The cat looked at Seagull with faint amusement and murderous anger. She realized, again too late, that the cat's eyes had been narrowed; his face full of fury as he had come around the bend.

"What've we got here?" He asked lazily, reaching for his ax. Seagull thrashed her tail mutinously.

"And why do you need to know this?" Seagull tried to match the cat's easy but deadly tone. She didn't do very well on that mark. The white male gripped the ax in his teeth.

"Oh, no reason," He said through the wood. "Just wanted to know who I'd have the honor of killing on this fine, fine day." It was then that the catgull noticed his permanently bloodstained teeth. Slowly, she crept backward, anchor necklace swinging. "My name's Lennypaw," He proclaimed cheerfully. "I'm an ax murderer!" Seagull gasped and spread her wings ready to fly away as quick as she could. As long as Kurai kept herself concealed they'd both be safe. She, however, noticed that Lennypaw's perpetually amused gaze had landed on the frantic wolf poking her head over the edge of the rock. Seagull let out a long groan and threw herself at the momentarily distracted murderer.

Lennypaw hissed furiously and rolled out of her way, ax swinging just past her nose. Seagull drew back instinctively with a growl. The white cat took advantage of this and jumped at her, gashing her wing with his ax, only inches away from slicing off it off. Seagull let out a yowl of pain and slashed out at him, cutting him over the eye. Lennypaw wasn't deterred for even a moment and lunged at the smaller cat, bowling her over easily. Seagull snarled and raked at his stomach with her claws, struggling to get free. Lennypaw hardly flinched, but gazed down at her, a smirk on his face.

"I've been killing for months and have taken hundreds of lives, did you honestly think you could steal from me?" He meowed with a sadistic kind of pride.

"Well I've been stealing for years and am the richest and only catgull in creation, so yeah, maybe I did!" Seagull shouted at him defiantly, still struggling. She was full of embarrassment, barely able to believe that she, the greatest pirate ever (if she did say so herself) had been trounced on her first day back on the job. Lennypaw, however, was gazing down at her thoughtfully. He scraped some blood off the wound on her wing and tasted it calmly.

"Hmm. Tastes like a chicken that's been dumped in saltwater. A bit tangy, but not too bad." Seagull looked at him.

"Excuse me?" Seagull snapped. "Are you gonna kill me, or just tell me how my blood tastes?" That was the weirdest thing she'd ever said, and she'd been pretty drunk in seaside taverns before.

"Hmm," Was all the psycho said. Seagull growled irritably.

"Look, crazy-cat-" She started.

"Shut up." He growled. "You wanna go free, you gotta make a deal."

"Oh, so now we're making deals instead of killing on sight, are w-?" Lennypaw smacked her hard across the muzzle. Seagull shut up.

"You're going to help me kill stuff. 3 murders, and you're free to go." He smiled with unnaturally sharp teeth. Seagull lashed her tail, thinking. She'd killed before, of course, it came with the job; if pirating had a description, it'd be there. However, it had been in self-defense every time; she doubted if she had the stomach for doing it for amusement. On the other hand, she didn't much fancy being murdered herself.

"Brilliant." She heard herself saying. "Let's go."

"Right!" Lennypaw meowed cheerfully for the first time. "This way, my young apprentice!" Seagull snorted as he let her up. The two of them walked down the path, Seagull wondering what she'd gotten herself into, Lennypaw waving his tail happily.

Meanwhile, Kurai groaned and hit her head against the border.
