Louis POV

I walked into the fancy restaurant, feeling a bit outta place. I'd usually prefer somewhere where an expensive suit and tie weren't the appropriate attire, but when my boyfriend of almost two years insisted on this place, I obliged.

I walked up to the hostess, "Table for two, please." I told her with an awkward smile. She proceeded with grabbing two menus, and gesturing for me to follow her to where we'd be seated.

"Is this okay?" she asked politely.

"Yes," I replied, "thank you." I gave her another friendly smile and took a seat.

"Can I get you something to drink? Or would you like a minute?" She set the menus on the table. I ordered a water while I waited and took my phone out, checking to see if he had texted me.

Nothing.

He said he'd be working later than usual so I wasn't expecting anything quite yet, but I'd rather unlock my phone and stare at the home screen instead of sitting here by myself looking like a complete loner.

After repeatedly telling the waitress that I needed more time, I started to get irritated. All the people that were seated around me kept flashing sympathetic glances my way. I didn't need their sympathy though, I was used to this.. but that doesn't mean it isn't embarrassing. Especially because so many people are noticing. I sighed and unlocked my phone for probably the 100th time now, I dialed his number.

No answer.

I don't know why I'm surprised. Every time I feel like he's going to come around and finally change his ways, I'm proved wrong. He should have gotten off of work almost an hour ago.

Maybe he's getting ready, or maybe there's a lot of traffic out.

No. I know that isn't the case and I need to stop trying to convince myself that it is.

Just as I was about to leave, a green eyed boy with shoulder length brown hair took a seat at my table. I cleared my throat, "Um, I think you-" I started, but was almost immediately cut off by the stranger in front of me.

"Hey babe! Sorry I'm late, traffic was a killer." He announced, loud enough for everyone around us to hear. I looked at him, utterly confused.

"I'm Harry. Just go with it, yeah? Whoever didn't bother to show up is a dick." He whispered, smiling a dimpled smile at me and it was the cutest thing I've seen in a long time.

I nodded, returning the smile. "I'm Louis.. thank you." I told him in a quiet voice, proving thankful for his presence. He gave me a nod and picked up his menu.

I wasn't sure whether or not this was a good idea, but looking at the boy, Harry, it was an easy decision. The waitress eventually came back and took our order and we ended up deciding on the same thing. Turns out, we have a lot in common. On top of that, he also told me about his love for golf and helping those in need.

I told him about myself, how much I love footy and singing, and he nodded along, smiling in admiration at some things I said.

Once we finished eating, he politely paid for the both of us, (after five minutes of me insisting that I'd pay my way.) As we walked out of the restaurant he agreed on letting me teach him some footy as long as I'd golf with him, and we exchanged numbers.

"So, uh, thank you for going along with it." He said. There was that warm dimpled smile again.

"Thank you for saving me from looking like a complete idiot..." I awkwardly laughed.

He put his hands in his pockets and looked me in the eyes, "It was no big deal." he shrugged, humor in his eyes. A shy smile then took over his plump lips, "But I think we should do this again.. y'know, a proper date though.." he trailed off, sounding nervous.

I couldn't help the grin on my face that went from ear to ear. "I'd love to. As long as you promise to show up." I said, indirecting my shit "boyfriend" that could definitely consider himself dumped after this.

He laughed and took my hand in his, "I promise."
