I was walking down the beach, school had just ended and me and my friend baylee were planing out our summer together. We were going to Pennsylvania to stay on my uncles property as he and my aunt went to france. Today was our last day in Florida, we were leaving first thing in the morning.
"So,Jasmine, are you going to miss home?" My mom asked me while I was packing my bag.
"Maybe at first but I think ill get used to it. I mean its best to get used to being away from home, I'm graduating next year and ill be going off to collage. Ill be gone for a lot longer than just a summer" I know these words hurt. I could tell by the way her eyes darkened and she turned her gaze to the floor. Me and my mom had always had a close relationship, and so leaving her for months at a time wouldn't be easy.
"Mom, you know I can always call, text, Skype anything. It won't be as hard as you think, and most of the time you'll be at work so you'll be kept busy, and ill be at school." I said to her in the most comforting way possible. Every since my dad left we were all each other had. That's why we were so close. Baylee was like her second daughter, we've been friends since we were in dippers. That's why she's ok with us going to Pennsylvania together for the summer. She trusts us. I had always loved Pennsylvania. When my dad left us, me and my mom went to Pennsylvania for a year, it was hard on baylee and i's friendship but we pulled through. I had made a lot of friends there, Gage was my best friend that I made there. There were so many nights he and I took my uncle's four wheeler and went back into the woods, and sat on the bridge above the creek and he let me pour my heart out to him. He wasnt the type of person to "judge a book by its cover" that's why we got along so well. He didn't judge me on what my dad had done, he only cared about me, and he told me that.
"Why don't you get to bed, you have an early start ahead of you tomorrow." She was about to leave my room and I stoped her.
"Mom?.." I had to say this to her before she left. No. Before I left.
"Yes love?" She turned around looking at me with concerned eyes.
"Come here." I said as I got up and held my arms open.
" I love you, goodnight" I told her as she pulled me into her chest. Her hugs were the best they were so warm and true.
"I love you too, goodnight." And with that she left my room, closing the door and making her way down the hallway.

"WAKE UP! WE ARE LEAVING IN 3 HOURS!" That was what I had the pleasure of waking up too the morning that me and baylee were going to Pennsylvania.
"Ahhh. Shut up. I'm awake. Let me open my eyes before you scream at me." I love her but how she was this excited at 7:00am was beyond me.
"Alright, gosh." She walked out of my room and went down stairs, probably getting something to eat. I got up and picked out my yoga pants, Victoria's secret hoodie, and my black uggs. I made my way to the shower and turned on the cold water. I plugged my phone into speakers and clicked on a play list. 'Watching airplanes' by Gary Allen blasted through the speakers.
I stepped out of the shower, I didn't realize it but I had spent a whole hour in the shower. I threw on my clothes and began to scrunch my hair. I put on eye liner and mascara and made my way down stairs to see and impatient baylee and mother standing at the door.
"You know its going to take us an hour to get there and we have to be there an hour early so if we don't leave now were going to miss our flight." Baylee said as she reached for the door handle. I went up stairs to get my suit case, before I left my room I exammend it one last time. I was going to be gone for 3 months. In going to miss this room.
