The Two Worlds

Tragedy. That's what I've seen for years on end. Earthquakes, landslides, floods, those are all natural causes for this. But there is one made by man himself. War. Soldiers gone out to fight, some coming back with terrifying memories, innocent people with their lives spared. At these very times I wish that there was another world out there, somewhere, with no tragedy, no worries,  where people can go to get away from it all.

I Kassandra Wilkins never knew that it was physically possible for there to be a place where humans could live another life. A life where you could do anything and it wouldn't affect anyone that you loved. Boy was I wrong. 

I don't know how I had the notion that there was another world. But I do know that I had a dream when I was about 9 that there was.  I told my mom about the dream and how it might be possible for there to be another world. She didn't believe me and said that I was just one of those kids with outrageous imaginations. 

I know there has to be one. I had the dream, and to me, dreams mean dearly. I'm at my house, 11 years old, and my mom is gone out traveling. I still have memories about war. That one war...

I was about 7 and that's when they had it. It was huge. So big it was the biggest wars ever. That was the first war ever. That's where they came up with the word 'war'. I t may have been the first but it was definitely the worst. So many bombings, lives being spared. I absolutely hated it. Especially because my father was in it. That's how I lost him.

About no where was safe, but me and my mom hid in our underground hideout. Other people found places to hide until it was over too. Very few survived.

I felt a shiver run down my spine and the hair stood up on my neck. And then I saw it...
