Cameron returns to the cliffs everyday after that one but he doesn't see the boy, his parents have asked him how his search is going but he's remained vague about it. He wants to pursue the boy in peace and not have his parents questioning his every move.

His blue eyes haunt him and when he closes his eyes he sees them. He's never been so infatuated or drawn in like that and he's completely aware of the fact that it's crazy behavior to be so into a boy he barely knows.

He's halfway through his stay at home when he finally breaks down and approaches his mother about his frustration at meeting the perfect boy and then never seeing him again.

"Mom?" He asks as he enters the library, his mother sits on the couch with a book on he doesn't like that he's interrupted her but he's at his wits end on what to do. He can't forget that boy and no one else has the chance of capturing his attention like the artistic boy.

"Yes, love?" She asks and puts her book down to look at her sweet boy. He sits down next to her and automatically cuddles up to her. Gina and Cameron have always had a close relationship, he's always been honest with her because the bond they have.

"On my first day here I went to the cliffs and I saw the most enchanting boy, I was immediately drawn to him. He left before I could get his name or talk to him past the comment I made on his drawing. I've gone back every day to the same place but I haven't seen him, I've been flown around looking for him and nothing. I can't forget about him, he's the only one I think about and I can't make myself stop. What can I do?" He asks, seeking her advice. He feels vulnerable at the boys dismissal of his presence but that doesn't diminish his interest in him at all.

"Oh, my baby. You've found the one," she gasps and her eyes twinkle with excitement.

"What?" He asks, confused at her statement.

"In our family you know you've found your partner when you feel an all-consuming passion for them, it's been like that for generations and we were so worried you wouldn't find yours because of you being in school all the time. We would have know that you found him or her there a long time ago, that's why we felt that an extended period here and a change in who you see every day will help you find the one," she explains and she finally is able to be disclose all of the information regarding how you know you've found your soulmate.

"But how do I find him again?" Cameron questions and she gives him a secretive smile while she brushes his hair out of his forehead.

"Don't worry, you will meet again. I promise you, just be patient my sweet boy." She advises him and he sighs. Patience is not his greatest virtue.

At the dinner table that night their family is excited that he's finally found his soulmate, his mother couldn't wait to tell her husband and daughter by the time they arrive home they are already aware of the arrival of his mate into his life.

They talk animatedly about what the boy is like and how he will complement Cameron's personality. They have no doubt that things will work out for Cameron, it's just a matter of time.

Cameron's lying on his bed that night and he wonders if he should tell Aaron about everything he's learned today, Aaron is his best friend and yet he has no clue about the major developments in his life.

His phone rings and Aaron is face timing him. He chews his lips and then picks up the call.

"Dude, you've been MIA since you got there, you've barely communicated with me," Aaron complains as soon as Cameron appears on his phone. He misses his best friend and love desperately, Cameron has never been gone this long or been so disconnected from Aaron. He wants to know what Cameron is doing so badly and he gathers the courage to ask his elusive friend about what's been keeping him from keeping in touch with Aaron.

Taylor has figured out that Cameron will be gone for an extended period of time and his abuse on the quiet boy has increased trifold. His fireballs no longer barely miss Aaron, he dares to hit him with them. He's careful with the timing, he makes sure the teachers don't see them and then threatens Aaron into silence after he does the evil deed.

Cameron is not there to watch out for him and Aaron has never felt as alone as he does in the past two weeks. He always believed that Cameron would have his back no matter what but his lack of attention has made Aaron doubt the strength of their friendship. Cameron has not asked how he's doing or if Taylor is hurting him, that hurts more than Aaron cares to admit to anyone but himself.

"Sorry I've just been caught up in what I've been doing here," Cameron replies vaguely and there's a hint of annoyance for his clingy friend. Cameron has devoted all of his time and attention to Aaron since they've been friends but he feels the need to make Cameron feel bad when he takes 2 weeks to himself to try and find his future husband.

Aaron sighs sadly because he can recognize that Cameron is annoyed with him, he knows he's being clingy but he can't stop himself from craving Cameron's attention. Cameron is magnetic to him and the one thing that would make him extremely happy is if he and Cameron somehow end up together. Aaron knows he could make Cameron happy if given the chance, he would be extremely devoted to him and only him.

"Well at least it's only 2 more weeks and then you'll be back," Aaron says, perking up a bit. Cameron will not return to the school unless he's able to find the boy again and also able to initiate a relationship with him. Distance is something that can cause a budding relationship to die just as fast as it started. Cameron refuses to let that happen and he's willing to stay as long as it takes to find the boy and begin to date him.

"How's school?" Cameron asks, changing the subject because he doesn't want to address the possibility of staying longer yet, he doesn't want to stress Aaron out if that's not the case.

"Horrific, I don't even want to continue training, it's such a waste of time because I'll never been chosen, I'll never be able to be strong enough to save anyone." Aaron confesses in a depressed tone, the only reasons why he stays are his mother and Cameron. He can't imagine living without Cameron's presence constantly in his life. Being at the school is the only sure way to guarantee that he and Cameron will maintain their close relationship. He's scared that if he leaves they'll drift apart, kind of like what's happening at that moment.

"What's Taylor been up to?" Cameron asks and Aaron hesitates before he answers. He thinks about Taylor's threats and they truly scare him.

"He's actually left me alone," Aaron lies and Cameron lifts an eyebrow, clearly not believing his best friend.

"I video taped him being violent towards me and I told him if he didn't stop, I'd go to the headmaster with the proof," Aaron says and he wishes he was brave enough to actually do that. He's afraid of the retribution too much, if Taylor is kicked out there's no telling what he would do to Aaron or his family.

"That's actually really smart, Aaron. I'm glad you found a way to stop that fucking idiot from causing you grief," Cameron says and Aaron knows it makes no sense but he's a little upset that Cameron bought his excuse so easily.

Cameron is distracted and he clearly isn't paying all of his attention on Aaron so the two friends hang up after just a few minutes. They used to speak for hours when Cameron and Aaron were apart and now Aaron can barely keep his attention for a few minutes.

Deep sadness washes over him and he spends the rest of the night crying and going through the camera roll filled with pictures of Cameron.

A/n- Will Cash reunite soon? (In the book and irl because I miss their friendship so much)

Votes and comments have been steadily decreasing across all of my stories, not gonna lie bc that actually makes me sad. I'm wrapping all my other stories up and will probably just update this book because I still have a lot of prompts to go through and I don't want to disappoint those who took the time to send me their prompts.

Maybe my writing has become too cliche? Not sure, but it's disappointing because I really try to update often for you guys. I'm not blaming you guys or anything, I promise. If you're not interested then you're not, I understand completely but regardless I love you guys and thank you so much for your comments and votes 😘. This is not a ploy to get more votes or comments btw, I just want to be honest with you guys.
