"jack! hurrrryyy!" I groaned, struggling to hold everything. jack was behind, with his blanket and pillow, half asleep.

"i'm coming alexis!" he yells back as I continue to run, making it to the tree house.

"I don't wanna miss anything!!" I throw my blanket over my right shoulder, and my pillow under my left arm. I looked up and let out a slow breath. It was simply beautiful. I looked back at the ladder and began climbing, making sure not to miss a ring. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 8 ladder rings, to reach the platform of the tree house. Jack's father built it for us when we were 4. We were now eight years older, and eight years closer. I lay the blanket on the floor and position my pillow, as Jack finally reaches the top.
Silently he puts his pillow down. We both lay down before putting the second blanket on us.

"It's so beautiful." Jack says staring up. We were staring at the stars, the clock reading 2:34 A.M. Nasa announced a meteor shower tonight that I just couldn't miss. Out of the corner of my eye I notice Jack starring at me. I turned to him and giggled.

"What?" I asked him.

"Nothing. Just like seeing you happy." he responded. We were both 12. But we were best friends. Being with Jack, every mistake I made felt right.

I stare up at sky, just in time to see a shooting star.

"Jack!" I squealed quietly and patted him. We weren't suppose to be out here. My face lit up with happiness. God, I was happy. I was so happy. I had everything I needed, Peacefulness, Stars, and Jack. I just didn't realize how much those things meant. Till they were gone.

"I've got a fire for a heart, I'm not scared of the dark. You've never seen it look so easy. I've got a river for a soul, baby you're a bo-"

I groan as I turn my alarm off. It was 3 A.-freaking-M. I sit up slowly and lean against my headboard. I wait for my eyes to open fully, before turning my lamp on. I grab my phone off the nightstand. I had a text from my dad.
-Get ready. Mom and I are having coffee in the kitchen.- I somewhat laugh before setting my phone down and standing up. I look around at my room, things missing from where they are suppose to be.

See, when I was 12, my dad's job got relocated to New York. Basically, I had to pack up, and leave everything. We knew we were only going to be gone 5 years, so we rented out our old house to a couple. But now we're moving back. We packed up this house to move back to our old house. Basically the only thing left in this house, is the furniture we're leaving it furnished with.

I walk over to my backpack and grab out my clothes. I quickly change into a white shirt, with some shorts, and white vans. I fishtail my hair and then look around. I walked over to the wall and disconnected my charger and laptop charger to throw them in my bag. Honestly? I was ready to move back to Nebraska. I missed home. I shake my head slightly laughing before grabbing my backpack. The last thing left in my room. I turn the light off and close the door. It takes me a minute to breathe in, and out before walking downstairs towards the light.

"Good Morning Honey." my mother greets me as I walk into the kitchen. I give her a smile before returning the good morning. I place my backpack on the floor by my mother's bag and walk over to sit next to her, coffee waiting for me in my spot.

"Good Morning Pumpkin." my dad says kissing my forehead, coming in from the living room.

"Morning." I respond quietly and take sips of my coffee. "What time are we leaving?" I ask him looking over at the clock.
