It all started the last night of winter break.
It was 10:29 P.M., only 30 minutes before she had to go to sleep for school the next morning. Haley was sitting on her bean bag chair by the window in her room, while on the phone with her boyfriend, Noah, when she got a text from Brandie.

Haley// Omg what?! I'm on the phone with Noah
Brandie// well you might want to hang up on him

Haley// What no why would I have to hang up

Haley puts the phone back up to her ear. "Hey, that was my mom, I have to go now, sorry." She said, putting as much annoyance into her words as possible, hoping to cover up the anxiousness in her voice regarding Brandie's texts.
"She's just so aggravating, you know?" Haley whined, with a twinge of guilt twisting a knot in her stomach. She always hated lying to Noah.
"Yeah, Moms are the worst," he laughed. "Night Haley, love you, babe."
Her heart never ceases to skip a beat whenever he says that.
"Goodnight, I love you too." She says and hangs up. A few seconds after, her phone rings. As expected, it's Brandie.
"Ok, so what's the important news that you have to tell me? It better not be about that hot guy that lives two doors down from you, because I might actually have to murder you if it is." Haley spat angrily, she still couldn't believe that Brandie had made her hang up on Noah.
They hadn't been able to talk a lot over break. He was upstate at a ski resort with his family, probably having the time of his life, while Haley was at home doing nothing.
Noah was coming back the next day and was going to her house after school, she was extremely excited about that. Haley actually interacting with another human being, besides her mom and Brandie, was a rare phenomenon.
Haley didn't have many friends, only Brandie and Jax. Nobody really liked her for hanging out with those two, but Haley didn't care because she hated most of the people she went to school with, anyway. And it was extremely hard for her to make friends with social anxiety. It was hard for her to do anything with social anxiety.
But, it wasn't only that she was being extremely antisocial over the break, but also extremely depressed. Worse than she'd been for a long time; 3 months to be exact.
Ever since she has started dating Dan, really, everything had gotten better for Haley.
She wasn't as negative and upset anymore. And she smiled a lot now, not even fake smiles, they were completely genuine.
It was all because of one person, Noah.
But Noah hasn't really been himself lately. He's been 'too busy' to hang out, lately, and sometimes he didn't even answer his phone at night. That's not like him, he was always so quick to agree on hanging out and loved being with Haley almost as much as she did.
3 months, 1 week, 5 days, 19 hours, 37 minutes, and 42 seconds clean... Well, according to the app Haley got on her phone.
Now, after 3 months of fighting, Haley was so close to throwing it all away. Little did she know....
she would.
