Zane

I was in the hospital for another three days before they let me out. They said they wanted to keep an eye on me because of how bad my cuts were. Of course they were bad. I wanted to die. I wanted to be free from him and that was the only way to do it. But then Matty saved me. He had stayed in the hospital by my side all the time. He never left. He made me feel safer. I was so happy when he explained that I was going to be living with him. And that's where we were now. In his car on the way to his house.
The trip was silent. Mostly because I didn't want to speak. I sound like a idiot when I do. I know I speak like a child and not even very well. I can't do long sentences and I mostly only speak a couple words. But I didn't do much of school. So it wasn't my fault.
'Here we are. Home sweet home.' Matty had pulled up at a nice looking building. He told me he owned a flat in a nice neighbourhood.
He led my up the stairs to the second floor. He ushered me into a nice spacious flat. It was decorated in neutral colours with minimal things. There were a couple photos scattered on the walls but that was about it. In all it was a nice little place. But then anything was better than that basement.
'I've ordered you a new bed and I've just got to clean out the spare room for you but until then you can sleep on my bed.' He said.
I shook my head wildly. I didn't want him giving up his space for me. 'No.' I said.
He looked a little hurt when I said that.
'I sleep on floor.' I stuttered out hating how dumb it sounded.
Matty sighed. 'Zane your not sleeping on the floor. It's only for a couple days and I'd rather you were comfortable because of your injuries.'
I've had worse. I sighed. I didn't say that of course but I still felt bad.
'Right, let's get you settled.' Matty smiled down at me kindly before taking my hand and leading me to another room.
'Right, this is my room but it will be yours until I get your own room sorted okay.'
I only nodded, knowing it was useless to protest.
'Okay to sit?' I asked nervously as I looked at the bed. It looked so nice and warm I just wanted to jump on it.
'Course. Go ahead' Matty said with a grin on his face.
Excitedly I inched over to the bed before nervously touching it with my hand. I gasped at the softness. I added another hand and pressed down loving the feeling of the squishy matress. Before Matty could stop me, not that he would, I flopped forward and giggled in delight when my whole body was met with what felt like a cloud. I sighed in happiness.
'Hows that feel?' Matty said grinning over at me.
'Amazing.' I smiled.
He chuckled and Walks over to me. Without another word he carefully lifted me up into his arms, pulled back the quilt and lay me back down before wrapping what felt like a marshmallow around me. He treated me so carefully and gently it made me feel like I actually deserved to be treated correctly.
'Go to sleep kiddo. I'll wake you when dinners ready.' He spoke softly as he ran his fingers through my hair.
My eyes suddenly felt heavy and I didn't bother fighting them and let them close as I fell into a peaceful sleep.
