Cameron's full attention continues to be on finding his blue eyed boy. The boy isn't aware of it but he's Cameron's. He flys over the city making sure that he's shrouded in some clouds, the people aren't ready to be introduced to the heroes that keep their Earth safe.
He lands on the outskirts of the city, there's farmland in the area. He sees a field of tulips and it looks gorgeous so Cameron walks over to sit in their midst. As he grows closer to the field he sees someone already sitting there and he's hunched over. Cameron immediately recognizes the elusive boy that caught his attention close to 3 weeks ago.
Cameron takes in a deep breath, he's not going to lose the boy again. He goes up to the boy and he peeks over his shoulder, he's drawing the tulip field and he's not surprised to see absolutely beautiful rendition of the tulips. There's multiple color tulips, the sky is a vibrant that reminds Cameron of the boy's eyes. It's gorgeous.
The boy lets out a sound of frustration and he rips the paper out of his canvas and rips it up into tiny pieces. He lets the pieces fall to the ground and stares down at them.
"You know, even if you're not happy with the drawings I'm sure you can find someone who would find them absolutely amazing," Cameron tells him quietly and he takes the liberty to sit down next to him.
Their eyes meet once more and Cameron can feel his heart fluttering because he's so beautiful, his eyes match the color of the sky and seem to sparkle like diamonds. He doesn't smile at Cameron or even greet him politely, he just looks back down at the blank page like he did last time.
This time when he gets up Cameron follows suit, he follows him because he's determined never to lose him again. It would literally be torture.
"Why are you walking away?" He questions the boy and the boy stops abruptly, his jaw clenches and he looks almost angry.
"You don't want to get to know me, I promise you that once you do, you'll hate me anyway so I'm saving us the trouble." He explains quietly and his eyes are trained on the ground.
"No way would I hate you," Cameron replies passionately, he wants to convince this beautiful, quiet boy to talk to him, to meet with him, to tell him all about himself.
"You say that with such passion and yet you don't even know me, are you insane?" The boy asks smartly and Cameron gives him a small smirk.
"I just know what I want," he replies and the boy scoffs.
"What you want, I'm not willing to give," he says and then continues walking but Cameron follows him still.
"What is it that you think you can't give?" He asks him, he's trying to get a read on him. He wants to figure out the right things to say. He wishes he could skip all of these awkward beginnings and move right into the intense, passionate relationship that he knows is in their future.
"I can give nothing," he answers elusively and Cameron can feel the frustration and intrigue building at the same time. All that the boy needs to do is give him one chance, that's all he needs.
"What's your name?" He asks him and they've reached the road, the boy continues to walk down the side of the 2 lane road silently. He doesn't answer Cameron's question. Cameron wonders if maybe his mother is wrong but then again how is it that he would find him again in a random field that he's never been to before? It's fate.
"Are you going to answer?" Cameron asks and the boy shakes his head. "Why not?"
"Because then you'd think I actually want to get to know you, but I don't. Either way, names aren't important. What my name is, is not what I call myself." He says and Cameron sighs because he's getting nowhere.
