They had heard them. Molly and Lucy pretended not to. But they did. They heard the whispers as they passed by.
Aren't those Weasley's?
Which ones? I swear, that family gets bigger and bigger every year.
Those kids, they're the daughters of the Worst Weasley.
Percy Weasley?
Exactly, what other Weasley could've been worse than him? Turned on his own family and came crawling back when things started to look bad for him.
They remembered the pointing too.
Look, it's his kids. The Worst Weasley's. Should've been in Slytherin if you ask me.
Their father had fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. But apparently, it didn't matter to most people. They had heard of him leaving his family for the corrupted Ministry if they hadn't seen him already strutting about with the Ministry back then.
But Molly and Lucy didn't care. They loved Percy. And he loved them. That was all they needed.
But Molly couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when other students looked after James, Albus, Lily, Rose and Hugo so admirably at school.
"My father fought in the war too, you know," she would grumble quietly to herself when nobody was around to hear her, "Just because you think he's the worst Weasley doesn't mean he didn't make sacrifices. He fought bravely just like the rest of them. Just because he's not Uncle Ron or George or the others doesn't mean anything. He saw Uncle Fred die, but I guess that doesn't mean anything!"
And Lucy felt the same way.

"Dad! Please! Can't we go?" Molly whined.
Lucy made pleading eyes at him, "Pleeeeaaase, Dad? Mom? Help us out here!"
Audrey shook her head while stirring, "No, leave me out of this. If your father says no, then no."
"Thanks for the help, Mom." Molly crossed her arms angrily, "I don't see why we can't go to Diagon Alley by ourselves! Uncle Ron let Rose and Hugo go get ice cream by themselves!"
"I said no," he told her sternly, "And first off, Diagon Alley right next to Knockturn Alley! Second, he accompanies them on the journey there. And third, you know Ron has a weakness for ice cream!"
"It's not fair!" Lucy cried.
"I thought we raised you two better than this," Percy scolded them, "But apparently, we haven't taught you enough. So how about, stay in your rooms until dinner and no Quidditch for two weeks? Maybe that will teach you two a lesson about respect."
Molly lost her Weasley-inherited temper. Quite badly this time. "THEY'RE RIGHT! THEY'RE ALL RIGHT! YOU REALLY ARE THE WORST WEASLEY! YOU ABANDONED YOUR FAMILY FOR A MINISTRY YOU KNEW WAS CORRUPTED! HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT THEY SAY? 'POMPOUS PERCY!' 'THE WORST WEASLEY!' 'COWARD!'" she screeched, "THAT'S WHAT THEY CALL YOU! UNCLE BILL AND CHARLIE AND GEORGE LET THEIR KIDS DO WHAT THEY WANT! UNCLE RON LETS THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT! AUNT GINNY TAUGHT JAMES HOW TO DUEL WHEN HE WAS TEN! AND I'M SURE UNCLE FRED WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER THAN YOU TOO IF YOU COULD'VE SAVED HIM! WHY CAN'T YOU BE LIKE THEM?"
Their mother looked angry beyond words, whisk lying forgotten in the bowl, and was casting sad glances at their father. It was hard to describe how Percy looked. Sad, angry, horrified, devastated? His eyes were shining.
Lucy took a step towards him, "Dad-"
He ran from the room quickly, knocking over a chair but not caring.
