The sharp cold made my breath turn to mist when I breathed. I missed District Nine. The beautiful rolling hills, the wheat farms, the smell of warm bread coming out the door of the District Nine bakery's. But I had to forget my home now, I was in the Arena now, and I had to win.

The Clock ticked, Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven... I needed to get that sickle. The sickle was an every day tool used to cut the wheat stalks. If I could get my hands on the sickle I could use that as a deadly weapon.Sickles were actually a tool but I use one everyday and I can turn that tool into a deadly weapon.

I looked around at my surroundings. All I could see to my left was a snowy, Icy wasteland. To my right was a dark forest with a light blanket of snow covering it. I had to make up my mind of where to go. The wasteland was bare except for a couple polar bears, I didn't want to have a "talk" with one of those things. The forest on my right looked promising, I could eat the bark off one of those trees for food. But the woods could be filled with rabid animals like wolves, bears and other animals I don't  wan't to name. Four, Three, Two... I decide that the woods is the better option for my survival. ONE!

I dash off my pressure plate. One unlucky boy from district 12 runs off his plate too early and is blown sky high. Parts of his body fall from the sky like a storm of flesh and bones. The cornucopia nears and I unhook the sickle from the wall. Step one, check. Step two kill people whilst getting out of the cornucopia. My district partner Alyssa was meant to be my alliance but I think she doesn't want to be my friend any more because she tries to slash my throat open with a serrated knife. I dodge her attacks with ease and grab her by her hair and bash her head against the side of a metal crate. Blood spills from her temple but she's not dead. I run out of the cornucopia and watch behind me as Alyssa runs away into frozen wasteland to have a play date with the polar bears.

I run into the cover of the forest and keep going until I cant see the cornucopia or any other tributes. Step two, check. Step three, find water and shelter. Three cold hours pass and I've found a nice hole to sleep in, it's covered in fallen logs and snow covered ferns. But I haven't found any water. I pick the bark off a fallen tree and it tastes like dirt, I need to keep eating this but I just can't do it. Amongst all this I figure out my water problems. YAY! I'm surrounded by water, THE SNOW. I can just melt the snow and then I will have water. My thinking is interrupted as a boy named Sebastian from district three runs past my hidey hole. I begin to crawl out of my cover but I snake back in just as a short blond girl called Maddie from district eight  chases after Sebastian. Maddie was a girl I wanted as an ally, she was my back up plan for if Alyssa went crazy and tried to kill me. I chase after Maddie and watch as she expertly throws a small knife into the back of Sebastian's leg. He falls to the ground and pulls out the knife. I give Seb points for being tough. He throws the bloody knife at Maddie and the blade skims her arm slicing her skin, drawing blood. Thats when my best freind Alyssa the one who tried to slit my throat, runs to Sebastian and  pushes the blade through his back. A cannon fires and Seb is lifted into the air and taken away by a hovercraft.
