A New Beginning

A Day at the beach

When I get off the bus I go straight to my room and text Julie about Jaleb asking me to go to the beach. I didn't want to tell her on the bus because I don't want Jaleb to think I'm one of those girls that over reacts about dates. Well it's not really a date though..... Or is it?
I go take a shower and get ready. I put on my black bikini top with black shorts and put my hair in bun. I wash all my makeup off and replace it all with water proof makeup. Then I put my black cover up on and I go to the hall closet and grab my beach towel, sunglasses, and sun tan lotion and shove them in my bag. I grab my phone and also put that in my bag.
     I hear the door bell and run down stairs, tripping over a step but I catch myself before I fall. I answer the door and see Jaleb with a white t-shirt on and black shorts with a little bit of orange.
       "Hi" I say smiling. "Hello" he replies, his voice shaking. I can tell he is nervous. "Are you ready to go?" I ask grabbing my bag off the floor and putting it on my shoulder. He looks down, " Um I think your forgetting something." I look down and notice I forgot to put shoes on. I blush and invite him in while I go put my converse on.
      I come back down stairs and he is waiting at the bottom of the steps talking to Natali about cookies. He sees me and laughs. "What?" I ask confused. "Your wearing your converse to the beach?" He laughs. I make a fake mad face and reply, "Yes gotta problem with it?". We both laugh and walk out the door and walk 1/4 mile to the beach.
       When we get there I lay down my beach towel and take off my cover up. Jaleb takes off his shirt and reveals his 6 pack. We check each other out and smile. 
         I run into the water and yell, Catch me if you can!". He runs after me, soon the water gets deep so we are both swimming. He finally starts catching up so I slow down. He grabs my ankle and pulls me over to him and smiles. "Your going no where.". We laugh so hard I though I was gonna drown for a minute.
We decide to swim back closer to shore when he silently goes under water and pulls me down with him. I scream and playfully punch him under water. We go back up and laugh. When we swim to shore we sit on our towels and watch the sunset.
He grabs my hand and wraps his fingers around mine I do the same. We look at each other,smile and have another one of those moments where we look like idiots.
       "Wanna go night swimming?" He asks me starting to look away. "As long as I'm home by 10:00 because we have school tomorrow." He nods and we walk into the water splashing each other, when I happen to look over and see the life guard. He tells us there has been a shark spotted and need to exit the water ASAP.
      I give Jaleb a worried look, grab his hand and start walking up to the sand. We stand there with only our feet in the water when I hear my phone go off in my bag. It was Julie. I let go of Jaleb's hand and get my phone when I notice it's 10:45.
      I tell Jaleb and we get our stuff and start walking back to my house. He walks me to the door and hugs me. When we pull away we smile. I kinda want him to kiss me but it might be weird because we are really good friends.
       "Wanna hang out after school tomorrow?"he asks quietly. "Sure, can we go roller skating I have two free passes because my dad works the night shift there?"I ask hoping that he will say yes. "Yea but I'm not very good at skating." "Don't worry I will help ya." I reply trying not to smile at him blushing. "Well see you at school tomorrow." He says pulling me into another hug. I hug him tightly putting my head on his shoulder say bye and walk into my house quietly.
         I am a little late and I don't want my mom knowing so I quietly grab a brownie and take a quick shower. Then change into my pajamas. I wear a loose tank top and basketball shorts to bed. I can't stop thinking about Jaleb but falls asleep quickly.
       P.O.V Jaleb
      I wanted to kiss her but I don't know if she likes me that way, I think to myself as I walk 5 blocks to my house. We are just friends though right but I really like her. When we hugged it felt magical. I walk in my house and yell " I'm home!". My mom comes and greets me and I walk to my room to get a pair of boxers and go take a shower. I put my boxers on and lay in my bed. I don't get much sleep because I can't get my mind off Alex.
