It was in the mist of winter. The cool wind filled my skin with goose bumps as I woke up. I knew not what had happened. All I knew was that I was lying on a bed of dirt. Small rocks incrusting my skin.
That's when panic set in. As fast as I could, I sat up, feeling the throb of my head as dizziness started to set in. I only saw a shade of red, not being able to open my eyes from the pain. I stayed still for a few moments letting my dizziness die out. When realization of where I was hit me. When I finally opened my eyes I searched my surroundings and noticed it didn't seem familiar. Standing, I dusted off the dirt and rocks from my arms and face. Reaching into my pockets I took out my phone but had no signal. Sighing I put it back into my pocket. I looked around once again and I was surrounded by the tall trees of the forest. As I kept inspecting my surroundings a prickly feeling crawled up my skin. I knew I was not alone.
Sniffing the air, I found no distinct scent of any other werewolf or human. My muscles couldn't relax as my senses picked up other animals in my surroundings that weren't of danger, but I still felt a glare at the back of my head. I turned but still couldn't distinguish where it was coming from. A movement caught my eye, coming from one of the trees. I scanned the tree top where I had seen the movement but only an owl sat on the edge of a tree branch. Seeing the owl made my alertness cease.
It wasn't rare for owls to be spotted around me. It took me time to get used to in the beginning. Over the years I saw them as guardian owls. They would seem to always appear with no reason. At least, not a reason I knew of. As absurd as it sounds. I thought of the foolish idea and a smile appeared on my face. Thinking back to the owl I couldn't deny the fact that its appearance was different from the rest. The usual types of owls I saw were big in size; some with pure black feathers, some with brown feathers and some with a mix of both colors. Yet, not like this one. The owl that was situated in the tree ahead of me was the same size. Except, it had a majestic grey coat of feathers with specks of white. None the less, it was the first time I've seen it. The owl fluttered its wings preparing to take flight, making me snap out of thought.
Noticing its absence from the tree was my signal to start tracking my way home. Taking my clothing off, I tied my t-shirt onto my left ankle and folded my pants with my boxers inside. Dropping my pants and boxers on the floor I shifted into werewolf form. Biting down on the rest of my clothing I started to run towards the direction of my last tracks. Retracing my own unknown path, I noticed some things started to seem familiar. The way certain trees stood or how the fallen log was displayed on the ground.
Memories of last night started to flood my mind as I traveled deeper into the forest. I remember being at a classmates party. Being the life of the party. I had to be invited or else no chicks would have showed up. Obviously, not being able to resist my good looks. What else could I say; I could melt one or two lines of ladies.
I had been dancing with a couple of different girls that wore skimpy dresses that barely covered their ass . After they got me bored of repeating the same dance moves, I decided to go sit down on the couch next to my friends.
