I stared out the window at the dark stormy skies, wishing my lost love would return. Sitting next to me was the phone, as I had been instructed by the police to keep it near me at all times.

The sun was a faint outline barely visible through the stormy skies, slowly disappearing as the day turned to night. In a sense I guess it was like my hope, slowly fading.

There was an eerie calmness through out the city, asking to be broken. When the phone rang, I should have assumed something was wrong. I should have heard the sadness in their voice. But I didn't, I was too nieve.

Holden back by my barely visible hopes, that soared when they spoke the words I had been hoping for: "We found him."

That was all, nothing more, nothing less. Assuming they were coming home, I quickly cleaned the house. I even made a batch of blue cookies, his favorite.

When the sleek black car meant for 3, only 2 of them living pulled up, I should have realized what it meant. But once again I was held back by my innocence, my hopes, my dreams for our future, or simply our never ending love.

The car was followed by 2 other cars. Both white with black stripes, and sirens on top. When two officers came to my door both holding their hats, I should have realized what happened.

They spoke 2 words that changed my life forever, "I'm sorry."

Only now did I begin to realize what was wrong. They led me to the sleek black car, opening the back doors to reveal a long narrow beautifully crafted box.

Tentatively I took a step forward, and opened it. Inside he was laying, looking at peace with the world.

Only then did I realize:
He would never swim again.
He would never walk again.
He would never tell me that he loves me again.
He would never fall asleep with me in his arms again.
He would simply never be again.

I let out a gasp, and ran to my house. I jumped into our bed, wishing I could be in his arms again.

He used to joke. He would say that he was "The Eternal Sea Prince, and I was his Eternal Sea Princess."

Later they told me, that he died doing what he loved. He was found floating in the ocean, after he became to tired during a swim. He was to compete in 2 years at the Olympics.

Already had he won, but he wanted to compete again.

I knew I couldn't live without him, so I would join him. They can bury me in a grey dress, my favorite. Side by side him in a sea green suit, his favorite.

Together Annabeth Chase, and Perseus Jackson would be The Eternal Sea Prince and Sea Princess.
