     "Delle."

"What?" I spat, as if the word was venom itself. Could I not spend a private night in solitude?

"Another letter." Jones replied in a severely drowsy voice. I, however, do not feel an ounce of sympathy.

I fervently sighed, adjusting my reading spectacles. He ambled in, probably still in slumber when our butler woke him up. I snorted. He looks dreadful. Anyone would have assumed he lost a wrestling match.

It was 11 p.m. I couldn't sleep. My eyelids refused to.

He abruptly lay the envelope on my desk before collapsing on the carpeted floor.

Either way, I'd have to summon Angelo. My frail limbs could not support more than 5 kilograms. Jones was obviously more than that.

I averted my gaze to the envelope. It seemed... fresh, if anyone saw my vantage point. I retracted my Swiss-Army and thoroughly sliced it open.

     I skimmed through the letter.
Keeping my gaze still, I shoved the knife back in my pocket, showing no traces of surprise on my facial features.

As a matter of fact, this was life. At least, ours. It wasn't a pity that the U.N.I.D.A. anointed us representatives.

Folding my spectacles, I neatly placed them under my desk, above my documents and papers.

I strode to my slumbering brother. Kicking his side, he jerked up and glared. He caught the look in my cobalt orbs and scowled. I walked to the coat rack and hastily grabbed mine. Jones followed, still scowling. I tossed him his coat and boots before tying my laces together.

     I pressed the intercom.

Angelo jogged to the living room and saluted with respect.

     "Another case, milady?"

"I'm afraid so, I'll leave the mansion to you and Denisé." I spoke in my authoritative voice. Our butler bowed, and saw us off.

Now fully awake, my brother opened the main door.

Out to encounter one of London's perils.
