Struggles (Book One)

Family?

Deonne’s POV:

I woke up cold and alone. Dae and the others must be at practice already. I got up and got ready for work. I took a quick shower and then blow-dried my hair throwing it up in a ponytail. I put on my uniform and made sure everything was perfect. I walked to work, since it was close by and I couldn’t drive yet. I walked into the mall and made my way to the theater. I clocked on and began to restock everything and started making popcorn. Through most of my shift, I thought of everything that was happening. My apartment had burnt down, I moved into B.A.P.’s dorm, and I broke some ribs and sprained my ankle. My ribs were still sore, but I could manage easily and my ankle was healed. I was so in thought arguing about whether or not these things were coincidental, that I didn’t hear my name being called by my manager.

“Deonne? Hello earth to Deonne.” I snapped out of it and smiled at her.

“Oh sorry. What can I do for you Tammy?”

“There is a boy here to see you. Normally I wouldn’t accept this, but since your shift is over in five minutes, go ahead and call it a day.” I nodded and logged off, coming out from behind the counter to come face to face with Daehyun. I wonder why he was here.

“Dae, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be at practice still?” I took his hand in mine and kissed his cheek smiling. I didn’t get a smile or even an acknowledgement from him. “Dae… What’s wrong?” He glanced into my eyes and led me outside. It wasn’t dark yet, but the sun had begun to set. I looked at him concerned while he looked at me with sad eyes.

“Deonne… something’s happened… to Zelo…” I looked at him, a bit shocked.

“What happened? Is he ok? Come on, let’s go see him.” I began to pull Dae to our house, but he stayed where he was. “Dae…”

“He isn’t home Deonne. He… he was kidnapped… by Donald…”

“What?!?!” I was freaking out. “How? When? What exactly happened?”

“I’m not exactly sure what happened. All I know is that we all went to take a shower, except Zelo and Yongguk who kept practicing. Yongguk came in a little while later and when I finished he told me to go get Zelo to take a shower. When I went in there… the equipment was thrown everywhere and the mirror was broken. On the mirror was a little note that said… ‘Tell Deonne to meet me at the abandon house two blocks from ours if she wants to see her brother Zelo again.’ That’s all it said.”He had Zelo. I couldn't believe he took Zelo of all the members.

"Wait did he say that Zelo was my brother?" Dae nodded. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him with me to the hospital. When we arrived we checked in and waited our turn. Finally a nurse came and called my name. I took Dae's hand again and we walked into a room.

"The doctor will be with you soon." I nodded as she left. We waited for about five minutes.

"Ah Deonne it is so nice to see you. How can I help you today?"

"Well you see. I was wondering if you could tell me if Choi Junhong and I are related." The doctor looked at me confused for a bit.

"You want to know too? Didn't your other brother Donald tell you? He came in a couple days ago to confirm the situation. Choi Junhong is in fact your brother. You guys have the same father." I nodded, thanked the doctor and then left. On our way home, Dae and I were silent until something he said earlier hit me.

"Wait… didn't you say that… Yongguk was the last person… to see him…?” Dae nodded. I turned and sprinted to the dorm. I could hear Daehyun’s feet running after me, but I was too focused on my target. When I reached the dorm, I stormed in and walked up to my prey slamming him into the wall.

“What the hell Deonne?!” Yongguk yelled.

“Why didn’t you protect him?! Why didn’t you stay with him?! Why did you leave his side even for one second?!  What the fuck is wrong with you?! You know what he is going to do to Zelo? He’s going to rip him apart!” Yongguk widen his eyes then looked down shamefully.

“…I’m sorry…” He whispered. I glared at him even more, pulling back and slamming him against the wall again.

“Sorry?! He’s going to kill another person important to me and all you have to say is sorry?!?!” I was about to punch him, but Dae pulled me back.

“Deonne calm down. We will get him back.” He tried to soothe me, but it didn’t work.

“It’s too late Dae. He’s probably already dead.” Tears wanted to escape from my eyes, but I wouldn’t let it happen. I heard Yongguk wince.

“No he’s not. Donald left a note. He wants to see you. He promised to release Zelo then.” Himchan stated.

“You guys don’t know him. He will beat up Zelo, torture him and soon… kill him… I will go see him to give him a piece of my mind, but Zelo is a goner for sure.” Yongguk gasped, running from the room; Himchan following him.

“We will go tomorrow, but right now we need to rest. With everything Deonne has told us about Donald, we are going to need it.” Youngjae stepped up being the responsible one and I nodded in agreement. I headed to my room and Dae followed me.
