Shocking News & goodbyes:
“Sum!” Shelia yelled.
“What?” I yelled back.
“Your dad called he’s coming in half an hour, he has something he needs to tell you.”
I dreaded this. My dad never liked me, he hated me actually. It all started when my mom died. I was 8 & I looked like my mom, always have. I reminded him so much of her when he was at home he treated me badly, especially when my big sister Loren went off to college. Shelia the nanny noticed this & stayed with me all these years. But since he’s not home that often anymore it doesn’t bother me.
I waited for his arrival.
Half an hour later:
I hear the doorbell ring. I run down the stairs & open the door. There stood my father, in his suit.
“Summer,” he paused & gave me a cold look. Unlike everyone else he called me by my full name.
“I have had enough of you & your non-appreciative, rude attitude. You are going to live with your mother’s best friend, Matilda, her husband & her 8 boys in Texas. Behave yourself.” He said.
I was shocked. He didn’t even live here, why would he want me to leave? He doesn’t even talk to me, he doesn’t know me how would he be sick of me?
“Now stop wasting my time & go pack, you leave tomorrow morning.” He left.
I went & told Shelia the news.
“Why would he do this to me? What have I ever done to him?” I asked Shelia.
“It’s alright honey, everything will be okay. Now go was up & call Alex when you’re done I’ll come up & help you pack.”
I ran to the bathroom & washed up. I thought about Alex. Alex was beautiful long black hair & beautiful blue eyes. We’ve been friends since 4th grade. When a girl & her posse
were calling me ugly & pulling my hair. She came & kicked their sorry asses. Ever since we’ve been like two peas in a pot. I called her.
“SUM! What’s wrong love? Saw another spider?” She burst out laughing at the memory.
“Shut up. It’s not funny.”
“Okay, okay I’m sorry so what’s up bunny?”
I told her what happened.
Let’s just say, things weren’t too pretty.
“I’m coming over!”
She came over after hanging up.
We spent the day at the mall getting kicked out of most of the stores & laughing over retarded stuff, we even shopped a little.
We got home, still smiling. We decided to watch a movie, A Shark Tale, awesome movie!
“Nothing could make this day better,” I said while she was in the kitchen.
“Nothing?” she asked.
“Nothing”
“Even watching shark tale while eating popcorn, chocolate, lollipops & chips?”
“I take it back” I smiled.
We were laughing while watching. Then the commercials came on.
“I just don’t get why they make commercials. I mean it’s like telling the people in the movie that they’re not worth people having to drink water or hold their pee.” I said.
“Me neither.” She replied.
After the movie was over we decided to play 20 questions.
She slept over. I was going to miss her.
“You’re going to call me everyday!”
“Yes sir.”
“And you’re going to tell me everything that happens!”
“Yes sir.”
“Good, now go catch that plane.”
“Yes sir.”
I went to catch that stupid plane.
