A New Beginning

Getting ready for skating

      I wake up to Natali laying on top of me playing with my nose. "Why hello there."I say laughing. She just giggles and runs downstairs to mom. I get up and go eat breakfast like any other morning but just eating an apple today. I feed Natali and go back upstairs to get ready.
Today I decide to try something different. I search the back of my closet until I find something not black. I pick out a light blue crop top that says #selfie. I don't even know why I have this shirt, I think my grandma got it for me but I have never wore it before. I pull on a light colored pair of jeans with of course, my converse.
I do my makeup but add a little bit of lip gloss and put my hair neatly up in a bun. Then I take off my glasses and put in my contacts. I look at myself in the mirror and smile because I haven't wore anything but black in about 3 years. I grab my book bag and my phone and go wait for the bus.

Me: Hey.
Jaleb: What's up!
Me: I have a surprise for you.
Jaleb: Should I be scared?
Me: Eh maybe. You will see when I get on the bus.

I shove my phone in my pocket and walk out to the bus. When I get on I can feel everyone looking at me and checking me out but I head straight to my seat with Jaleb. "Surprise!"I say sitting down beside him. "Woah, what happened to you. I like it."he says smiling and looking me up and down. I laugh," I decided not to be so dark and brighten myself up a little bit."
"I never thought I would say this but you look better then me."says Julie in awe. I laugh and Jaleb said he was just about to say the same thing. When we get to school and walk to our locker more people check me out and whisper positive things about me. People calling me pretty and not freaky feels nice.
I open my locker when the most popular boy in my grade come up behind me. "Hi." "Hi."I say confused. "You look good." He says checking me out. "I know btw I'm not interested so go talk to someone else." I say and smile sweetly. His eyes widen and he walks away. Jaleb bursts out laughing and so do I. "Cute but still vicious." He says smiling. I laugh and grab his hand, "let's get to class."
He looks down at our hands and smiles. We hear girls making rude comments about me but it's just because they are jealous that me and Jaleb Mychaels are holding hands. We sit together the whole day and hold hands in between classes. At lunch we invite Julie and Madison to go skating with us and of course they agree too.
     On the bus I sit with Julie, she is getting off the bus with me because she wants to pick out my clothes to go skating in. When we get to my house I introduce Julie to my mom and Natali and then we go up to my room. She rummages through my closet finding me a outfit while I shower. When I get out she isn't there.
     I put sweat pants and a hoodie on and right before I send her a text she knocks on my bedroom door. I open the door and she has a mint colored dress in her hands. "Where did you go?" I ask her. "All you had in your closet was black so I went to my house and picked a dress out for you out of my closet."she replies. "A dress? We're going skating not on a date plus I haven't wore a dress since 2nd grade." I say kinda disappointed.
     "It has shorts under it and I bet you will look great in a dress. I also brought matching makeup."she replies happily. "Fiiiine." I go put the dress on and look at myself in the mirror, she was right I do look pretty good. I let her do my hair and makeup.
      She curls my hair and does this thing to my eyes that really make them stand out. My contacts make my eyes green and I don't even look like me. She puts a sparkly lip gloss on me and smiles,"All done,"
      I look at myself and smile I don't know what she did but I look really good,
I barely recognized myself. Then she puts on the same short dress as me but hers is pink and does her makeup. I sit on my bed and text Jaleb as Julie finishes up her makeup.

Me:Hey Julie made me look like a sugar plum fairy😁😭.
Jaleb: Lol I can't wait to see you I betcha you look cuter then a kitten.
Me: I'm not cute I'm vicious😑.
Jaleb: 😂 I don't think I look too bad myself either.
Me: I will be judge of that. -I smile as I type that. -
Jaleb: Well then, you are vicious aren't you.
I smile really big and reply yes, yes I am very.
Jaleb: I can see your house I am almost there.
Me: Okay see ya then.

I sit my phone down on the bed and get my jacket and tell Julie he is almost here. I pick my phone back up and we walk downstairs when he rings the door bell. I open the door and.........
