A Dog Life

Chapter 1

For most to enter this world the first day on planet earth is happy one, with love and celebrations; and for the lucky ones a warm blanket, a famiy, and a home. But for me that day was'nt joyful.

I was born in a wired cage at a dog farm in south korea. My mum gave birth to me on the cold metal floor of the cage at the freezing cold of night, most of my siblings died... But mum tried her best to keep us warm.

I looked up at the stars, twinkling and bright. I just lay there at the edge of the cage; even though the corner was filled with poo that was so old it was hard and was piled at the edge of the cage. Even though I can strongly smell the undecent smell from it, I ignored it and just stared at the stars and the moon.

I felt myself getting sleepy, I close my eyes and rested for the whole night.

As I open my eyes, the first image that came into my view was my siblings trying their best to get milk from mum. I weakly stood up and walk up to my mum who was still bleeding from giving birth to us last night. I join my siblings and tried to get as many milk I can possibly manage to get from my mum, Suddenly I heard something checking the cages. I called to my siblings to stop, but since everyone was starving they ignored me.

I see two giants that most definetly looked like monsters. They were poking dogs with metal pipes to see if who's alive and who's not. I stared them down and just sat there, if they dare to touch or even poke mum; I'm gonna... I'm gonna.. uh... bite them! That's right!.

One of the monsters approached us,

"Min-jun! Come over here!" He says

"What is it this time Joo-Woon?!" He exclaims

"Look here, Dovey (doe-vy) just had her babies" the man with the mole on the cheek smirks with a devilish look

"1..2..3..4..5..6..7.. seven new dog meat Joo-Woon!" says the other man

"Let us take one in celebration" the man said

They both nod and opened the cage's gates, I saw the monster's hand come into the cage.. He was about to touch one of my siblings but I run as fast as I can to bite the man's hand, I bit him and he yelped out in pain. The other monster shoved me to the corner and I landed on the piles of poo which felt like a rock for me.

The man once again tries to grab one of my siblings, and I'm too weak to stand up.. I think I broke a paw. I just closed my eyes and looked away, suddenly I heard a bark and a whimper from mum.

I opened my eyes, my mum was laying down her eyes barely open while there's a long cut around her neck. My sibling came running towards my side, the monster closed the gate and left yelling.

When there was no sight of the two mysterious creatures, me and my siblings gathered around mum. Her eyes were closed, but she was still breathing. Each day I tried to nudge her and wake her up, but as the days past the less she became my mum and more like the grub that was gathered on the floor.

Soon enough mum died, she was taken away from me and my siblings. Now I felt like the mum since my brothers and sisters depended on me for safety. I don't know why me and my siblings are in here. After 3 years of living like this my brothers started talking about wanting to run around the fields, By now there was only me and my siblings in the cage. I held my breath as the giant comes near our cage, I stared him down and growled as my siblings comes behind me.

"Calm down you mutt, I'm just bringing a new tramp in" the giant screams

He throws in another dog who was now a male, I looked at him and tried to help him up.
